November 29, 20159 yr Apparently so. There was no standing tickets available at all and I was on there the moment they went on sale. So I imagine they'll be sellin them at some point I think the majority of standing tickets are reserved for VIP's OAGE (Or whatever it is) members and Swedish people.
December 10, 20159 yr Eurovision ✔ @Eurovision The presenter(s) of the 2016 #Eurovision Song Contest to be unveiled at a press conference held by Swedish broadcaster SVT, Monday 12:00 CET I'm thinking it's going to be Petra and Måns.
December 13, 20159 yr Saw this iconic new compilation in HMV earlier. What's that on Disc 3? Oh just Euphoria and Heroes within three songs of each other *.* http://www.amazon.co.uk/Running-Songs-Vari...+the+collection
December 14, 20159 yr I'm thinking it's going to be Petra and Måns. Confirmed. Perfect choices really, he's a natural presenter and she's always fantastic.
December 18, 20159 yr After changing how the running order was decided back in 2013, SVT have plans on how to make the voting 'more exciting'. “There are some things that can be done better”, says Martin Österdahl, the executive producer of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. In 2013, SVT’s idea of avoiding the running order draw in favour of giving the host broadcaster the right to sort the running order in order to make a better flow in the broadcast was accepted. Now, the idea is to improve the voting, which currently takes about one hour. “We have some ideas about how to make the end of the contest more exciting”, says Österdahl. Furthermore, the Big 5 countries should get a bigger place in the contest. It was previously announced that the pre-qualified countries will get to perform during the semi-finals, but it might not be all. “It is pity that the biggest countries show up for the first time only during the final. We have an idea about how they can show up, appear on stage and be as ready and comfortable as the other countries in the final”, adds Österdahl. More changes regarding the organization of the contest should help managing the budget in a more effective and smart way. The current budget stands at 120 million SEK (€12.92m) which is fewer than the total amount spent in 2013, as 125 million SEK (€13.3m) were spent when the contest was held in Malmö. Right after winning the contest in Vienna, the Swedish Head of Delegation Christer Björkman declared that the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest could be less expensive than the 2013 one. As of September 2015, 50 million SEK (€5.3m) were already invested in the event. http://esctoday.com/107405/svt-plans-to-in...g-contest-2016/ And I don't think there'll be be much interest on this forum, but Måns is one of the cover stars for Gay Times this month. Merry Christmas.
December 18, 20159 yr Author Hmmm, I think it's as good as it can be as it is - I'd be happy to have 1-7 read out as well but that would take even longer so that won't be happening! :heehee: SVT's last clever idea regarding the voting was the announce the winner before all the votes have finished thing (although they had the green room issue as an excuse), so I'm not holding out too much hope. In Junior Eurovision they have each country's spokesperson in the arena on stage so I guess that's a possible development, although I think it'd take away one of the elements that makes the Eurovision voting so great - going via satellite link to each country. It'd seem a bit of a step backwards even if it would make things slightly quicker.
December 18, 20159 yr Author In other news, Kazakhstan will be joining the EBU on 1st January 2016! However it will be only as an associate member, the same status Australia have for example. Kazakhstan have wanted to join the contest for a number of years now, but I guess they won't let them in as they don't have the Eurovision history Australia have. It's a shame as Kazakhstan do have a small part of their country in Europe (according to Wikipedia - the far west of Kazakhstan has the same longitude as Azerbaijan as far as I can see) so I think they should be allowed!
December 18, 20159 yr And I don't think there'll be be much interest on this forum, but Måns is one of the cover stars for Gay Times this month. Merry Christmas. God bless you Adam. GOD BLESS YOU
December 18, 20159 yr SVT's last clever idea regarding the voting was the announce the winner before all the votes have finished thing (although they had the green room issue as an excuse), so I'm not holding out too much hope. Yeah they need to stop doing that. I love the voting so for me personally it doesn't need to be shortened and I get the impression that the public enjoy it too. They could be more strict with the spokespeople so that we aren't hearing "thank you for the wonderful show" over and over but that's part of the charm, I don't see how they can speed it up without worsening the process (say having only the 12 read out). Will make an investment in GT this month.
December 19, 20159 yr Author Kyrgyzstan have just won Türkvizyon if anyone's interested: Py5W-F7WnFs Now I realise why Ruslana was too busy to be on the Belgian selection panel next month!
January 24, 20169 yr This is either the logo set to be unveiled tomorrow or a very skilfully made fake. Draw your own conclusions. Edited January 24, 20169 yr by LexDANCE
January 24, 20169 yr Author Apparently Sietse confirmed it was fake somewhere, not sure where though!
January 25, 20169 yr Author The slogan is Come Together and the theme art is all over Twitter, on my phone at the moment so can't post it. I'm really liking it though, my only criticism would be that the primary colours of dark blue and pink are very similar to 2013 but that's just a minor thing.
