June 2, 201510 yr More than likely, so many big albums this week and they will obv be high up the top 10 on the first update!
June 2, 201510 yr It's not unexpected with Will being shafted off number one so soon, but there's so many factors even before this week that were surrounding that being a virtual certainty. His albums since 'Let It Go' have always been slow burners sales wise anyway and once a second single gets to radio and it retails at £7 in HMV and the like it'll be a boost to it. His new tour goes on sale this Friday as well so that'll bring some sales to it I should imagine.
June 2, 201510 yr I think Lawson have a pretty big chance of doing what 'Higher' by Sigma did. Didn't that enter at #3 in the first set of mids?
June 2, 201510 yr When is. Jason Derulo's album out? This week, we don't have any other chart info apart from what's been posted from Mint Royale earlier this morning.
June 2, 201510 yr Interesting update, hoping it's big sales for Florence and the Machine at least! Odd to see an entirely new T6 on the albums chart, but great to see Slaves and Jamie xx doing so well; hopefully both can hold on to the T10. Singles wise, could "Somebody" manage to hold on to the #2 spot potentially? It's looking to become another big streaming hit, so could stick around for a while (saying that, Carly Rae Jepsen was out of the T10 officially pretty quick). Was hoping there'd be a mention of whether "New York Raining" has climbed after its unjust #30 debut on Sunday. Edited June 2, 201510 yr by SLlewellyn
June 2, 201510 yr Surprised that Jason Derulo's album isn't one of those new entries at the top, he may not be a massive album seller but he did at least go top 10 will all of his previous albums and 2 of them had decent longevity, expected a similar performance for this one especially as he's still managing #1 singles. Very happy to see Jamie xx's album in the top 3 though! :o I guess it's likely to drop over the week but if it could hang onto the top 10 that'd still be better than I expected (his last album only got to #33, although it was more a Gil Scott-Heron album so I guess not really a fair comparison).
June 2, 201510 yr SO MANY album releases this week! All getting in there before the inevitable summer lul
June 2, 201510 yr I know it's not confirmed but: A mini recap Singles 1 Natalie La Rose feat. Jeremih * 2 Jason Derulo ?? 3 Lawson * 4 Omi ?? 5 Skrillex & Diplo feat. Justin Bieber ?? 11 DJ S.K.T feat. Rae * Hope Somebody knocked down by Jason again, even though both aren't really what I would define as #1 quality *cues hate* (but they are still both good songs) Lawson doing remarkably well, however, they have not yet met the full (and harsh) power of the stream affect on top of their usual short chart life reputation which is going to knock them down 72 places :( Of course Omi is going to retake #3 and Where Are U Now back to #4 unless there's Bad Blood (presumably at #6?) coming for them with a sudden burst of streams (:o) Take Me Away doing ok even if it is early in the week. Hope it gets top 20 placing as it's quite good :D Edited June 2, 201510 yr by TheSpunGerGames
June 2, 201510 yr Natalie #1 :o missing data from somewhere surely No, the pre-order boost always gives the new entries an unfair advantage in the first midweeks - this'll be straightened out when the Friday release comes as biggest streaming occurs on Fridays and Saturdays. :D
June 2, 201510 yr No, the pre-order boost always gives the new entries an unfair advantage in the first midweeks - this'll be straightened out when the Friday release comes as biggest streaming occurs on Fridays and Saturdays. :D There's always missing data, mainly from the streaming sites in the first days, so I don't think it will change with the Friday release :P
June 2, 201510 yr Who is buying Collabro? The people buying that need their heads testing. Why can you not just accept that people have different tastes to yourself rather than suggesting they need their heads testing? I'm no Collabro fan but this isn't the first time you've made these comments.
June 2, 201510 yr There's always missing data, mainly from the streaming sites in the first days, so I don't think it will change with the Friday release :P The first midweeks under the new system will be (presumably) on a Monday, which is 3 days in to the chart week - as opposed to 2 currently. Usually on a Wednesday midweek under our current system the front-loaded releases have been shuffled a bit closer to where they are actually like to end up.
June 2, 201510 yr This week, we don't have any other chart info apart from what's been posted from Mint Royale earlier this morning. Thanks Martin. So while he shifts plenty of singles very few are interested in his album. Edited June 2, 201510 yr by truly talented
June 2, 201510 yr I've never asked or found out but does this Mint Royale work for OCC or something? No - he had a number of hits in the 2000s, including a #1 - and therefore still has links to the music industry.
June 2, 201510 yr No - he had a number of hits in the 2000s, including a #1 - and therefore still has links to the music industry. I did always wonder if it was the Mint Royale, just didn't like to ask in case I was wrong! I loved 'Don't Falter', the single they did with Lauren Laverne did in her post-Kenickie pre-hosting every music show on telly days. Anyway...Lawson are also doing quite a few HMV signings this week. Between that and the seven gigs in one day stint they pulled on Sunday it's like Victoria Beckham c. 2000/2001! Albeit slightly more scruffy and more in tune. All good coverage for them though.
