Shakira's only just really started in the UK, and I was thinking more on a global scale, and not just the UK charts. Robbie and Madonna also have the advantage that they speak English as a first tongue. English is Shakira's fourth language, after Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic.

On a International scale then yes she is big, but in the UK she isn't really that big. Even though she's had three big singles in the UK I don't think she'll ever be considered "the queen of pop" in the UK.

September 19, 200618 yr Shakira is NOT the queen of pop.. the queen of latin... she is bigger than madge in latin america.. and is there queen of music. Shakira isn't big in the uk ..but i that doesn't matter as the uk won't accept her ... the culture within the uk is something that shakira's music doesn't appeal to... eg indie, emo, old pop women who can't sing but who are loved for no reason at all, american music ... if english isn't your first language you are not accepted.. for shakira to have had 3 such huge hits within the uk it is fantastic.. she will never be the uks queen of pop but latin america ..yes. Also Britney is the princess kylie is not. I'v also had enough of this "he, she, they have been around longer that makes there music better ... IT DOES NOT and again sales were higher years ago so you cannot compare. Has Shakira had three 20million+ selling albums in the decade? = yes
