If you end up on Scott Mills' show then you probably won't be playlisted. That's no shade to Scott Mills as he's by far my favourite but that's how it seems to work.

I've noticed that, too - though loads of Grimmy's guests haven't been playlisted too. Rochelle (in the lead up to The Saturdays' two flop singles), Britney, Dolly...

Nail on head. He had Nicola and Nadine on when they went solo and they were both snubbed, weren't they? Bet if he was on Cel Spellman (literally can't take anyone with that sort of name seriously) or a show of similar ilk he'd at least be on the C-list.

It seems if you premiere with Capital, Radio 1 you end up being snubbed by the other one.

Aston has been quite active, play listed by Capital - snubbed by Radio 1.

Ella Henderson a lot closer to Radio 1 now and snubbed by Capital...

I'd personally go with Capital for bangs for my buck.

Aston's not on the Capital playlist. Nathan Sykes however, on virtue of his label owning both Capital and Heart, is, despite his single being a load of 'gravelly voiced' twaddle. And considering, as someone else has pointed out on the main thread for Aston's single, that one of his former bandmates is a DJ on Capital I am shocked at the lack of even Marvin's support.

Then again, his whole career since their split and with LuvBug seems to have revolved around pretending the serious DJ shiz was his goal in life the whole ride along. All very 'Melanie C goes punk' c. 1999/2000.

I don't think that's true.

Loads premier on one and aren't snubbed on another. Ella Henderson's music is largely not really Capital's thing, it's slightly more contemporary, but they'd probably still happily playlist any of her singles if they made the top 10.

Artists like Aston and Nathan, boyband cast-offs are just not Radio 1's usual thing, they snubbed JLS in their later era, same with The Wanted. Loads of the songs that are currently on both playlists probably premiered on one or the other at some point.

I guess we'll see with Glitterball. No reason Capital shouldn't playlist it....

lolwut O.o is it new fashion trend?

Glad to see Disclosure and Kygo climbing, also there're some nice additions - Foxes and Sigma\Ella.

Duke Dumont and Flo Rida & co. should have some longevity imo... Even Miguel deserves it.
