Is it still mixed together on CD/download (with the continuous mixes)? I really liked that about it before rather than having the individual tracks because we can get them anywhere now

A quick glance of my last few purchases suggests that the last time that was done was on the 2019 volume (released in late 2018) but since then they’ve just been 40 individual tracks, but because I don’t buy much music at all these days, I quite like owning the songs in these collections which are usually an accurate compilation of dance from the last year. I wouldn’t mind if they brought back the remixes though but I guess you can always turn crossfade on.
I've got the last 4 years on cd so I'll probs get this too at some point. It's nice to have the tracks on a physical format of some sort.
Curious to know if anyone here has purchased a copy of The Annual 2022 yet? Came out on Friday. I’m probably going to get it digitally on iTunes in the coming days as has been my tradition for a few years now.

Yes I got the CD yesterday, it sounds pretty good from what I've heard so far, mostly mainstream but I always get these for the deep cuts and potential future hits. I've discovered a lot of great songs over the years on the Annual compilations.

@lewis - yes the CD is still mixed.

This is why I always download my MOS albums. I prefer them unmixed

Almost a whole year of this thread not being used. I’m only here to see when the tracklist of The Annual 2023 will be released as it should be announced soonish.
I’ll be annoyed if Oliver Tree is on there seeing as he ain’t on NOW 113

We did get a Dance Nation compilation over the Summer but I don't think it was released on CD

Also I would imagine if we do get The Annual 2023 that it would be southstar's version of Miss You they include as MOS have it licensed

We should get the Annual 2023 next month. It’s a shame we only get one MOS compilation a year now on CD and download

They literally went from here's a new compilation every few weeks to none at all, but I guess they're capitalising on declining CD sales early and pushing their streaming playlists instead

It’s been happening since 2020 after the first lockdown started. In 2019, we were getting a new MOS compilation every 5mins

he definitely won’t be - MOS are behind the Southstar promotion so his version will be used.

Why should I buy a CD when all the songs are already available to stream?

I would imagine that the CD is mixed which I am certainly down for as I've mentioned previously in this thread. However, I know the appetite for that sort of thing feels nonexistent nowadays. The Annual feels like a novelty now and to have the physical compilation as a collector's item is a nice idea for some too.
That’s a really good tracklisting, I’m especially loving the inclusions of Waterfall, Jungle, Deep Down, words and Baby Girl, and with that it is pre-ordered! ;)

Last week's episode on Radio 1 featured Sister Bliss in the mix playing Faithless classics and new tracks from other DJs and producers. This week's episode comes from DJ Paulette who looks back on the origins of house and trance music. Both definitely worth a listen!

Schak does the final show next weekend.
