Some questionable choices there but YES at the Spanish theme!

The Piano House tracklist is great, reminds me I need to get more familiar with 90s dance. I am glad Londonbeat - I've Been Thinking About You is on there to get recognition as it isn't always recognised as a dance song (it was excluded from the 90s dance number 1s thread on here).

Incredibly commercial, though I will still buy it.

 

I used to LOVE The Annual compilations as I could always guarantee that I didn't already know 50% of the songs and a good half of those would be great discoveries. This was the case even up to two or three years ago but I guess the Sony acquisition was always going to make the MoS brand less about promoting dance and underground music and more about making a quick buck.

 

I know every single song on here, where are the breakers or slightly more underground tracks? And how were a lot of the tracks on Discs 2 and 3 even shortlisted for inclusion - Chris & Kem, The Vamps, JP Cooper, Julia Michaels, Maggie Lindemann etc...

I would have preferred Bakermat - Baby to have made it instead of Bakermat ft Kiesza -Don't Want You Back to increase the variety in genres as Don't Want You Back is just another piano house track whereas Baby is a very different vocal funky house track. For Kiesza, Dearly Beloved should have been included as it is better than 'Don't Want You Back' imo.

 

These dull ones on CD 3 should have been left off it though. The Starley one should have been the Raffa remix.

Having Chris & Kem on it just emphasises what a joke it is. Such a shame, I used to look forward to the compilation and I found some great songs over the years from it.

 

That track listing really is sad to see.

It's the Ryan Riback remix of Starley and the Indian Summer remix of JP Cooper. Oddly the originals for everything else... including Julia Michaels :wacko:

At least Clubland stopped their album compilations as they were definitely getting too poppy from what I could see, they should restart it them though with stuff like MC Boing on it along with some of the usual charting dance hits!
