So pleased for Nadiya. Not only was she the most entertaining (which obviously doesn't play a part in judging but still haha) but she was genuinely the best baker for me. I did prefer Tamal's showstopper in the final though. :kink:

What an utterly satisfying result. I even watched the episode twice today! GO NADIYA!

Mary Berry's iced bun innuendos though. Pretty much lived for her this episode *.*

Nadiya slayed with that speech at the end. I also heard that the whole entire twitter either screamed or cried with joy yesterday. She's easily my favourite Bake Off contestant ever now. By quite far too.

Haven;t watched this season, but I don't imagine anything was as good as Baked Alaska Gate or that anyone matched Ruby.
Nadiya is the greatest contestant in Bake Off history. And I enjoyed this season more overall than last, I liked most of the bakers, it's just a shame that Ian and Flora got so far! They were the only two I really was willing to fail and they both made top 4 :/

Let's pretend that Ian was a distant 3rd if it makes you feel any better :kink: Flora was good, she just didn't made much OOMPH when it came to her bakes.

Bitch you and your sniping are like the worst thing about Buzzjack.

Get your irrelevant trolling elsewhere. This is the place to worship Nadiya.

Flora was a decent baker but she was like SANDPAPER to my eyes and ears. Not as bad as Ian and his never ending tirade of smugness. Nothing summed it up better than Tamal and Nadiya chatting away together on one side and the smug old git silently failing on the other *.*

It pains me to see how Marie and Sandy left so early. If not for such a bad week Marie in particular would've been like Top 5 probably ugh

I'm hearing Bake Off officially ended with...

15.05m viewers! :o :o

Highest rating since the London Olympics and highest TV programme (i.e. excluding live events and sport) since The X Factor Final in 2010 (16.55m).

That's HUGE. I think this year will be the peak (it definitely felt less 'special' this year), but what a legacy it will be leaving at this stage anyway.

I think the 'less special' feel was more down to less interesting contestants than last year (Nadiya aside). Although having said that, the final didn't feel as high pressure as a final should.

The contestants definitely played a part, but in comparison to previous series' I found it a little more managed in feel. It was lacking in spontaneity and carefree joy, but perhaps that was again down to the contestants rather than anything else. It could also be my supreme cynicism that once higher ups get hold of a good thing they can't help themselves but tinker and make worse.
Nothing summed it up better than Tamal and Nadiya chatting away together on one side and the smug old git silently failing on the other *.*

That really did say a lot, didn't it. It was one of the things that makes me wonder how well certain contestants get along with each other. Can't imagine Ian having been very popular.

My ranking:

1. Nadiya

2. Tamal

4. Ugné

5. Alvin

6. Flora

7. Dorret

The BBC's contract with the makers of the show ends with this year's series (currently in the process of being recorded). There is speculation that other broadcasters are planning to put in a bid. We need Mel and/or Sue to state that they will leave the show if it moves. That should reduce the amount other broadcasters are willing to bid. Of course, it could also result in "Bake Off With Ant And Dec".

Nadiya's apparantly getting her own show called The Chronicles of Nadiya *.*
