August 4, 20159 yr Author Chart HighlightsOMI's "Cheerleader" holds at #1 for a fourth week. The song drops to #2 on Digital Songs with 148,000 downloads sold. On Streaming Songs, it holds at #3 but with a 17% gain to 16.1 million streams. This enables it to keep its lead over The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face", but the gap narrows: "CFMF" is up 15% while "Cheerleader" is up by only 5%. "CFMF"'s gains are largely due to a sales boost: it jumps three spots to #1 on Digital Songs with 148,000 downloads sold (less than 1,000 downloads separate the song from "Cheerleader"). In doing so, it earns this week's Digital Gainer honor. In other charts, "Cheerleader" leads Pop Songs for a second week, while "CFMF" leads On-Demand Songs for a fourth (6.3 million streams) and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a third.Major Lazer's "Lean On" leaps four spots to #6 with the Airplay Gainer honor. The song enters the Radio Songs top ten at #7, logging 86 million in audience impressions, while on Digital Songs, it ranks at #10 with 71,000 downloads sold. On Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, the track logs a third week at #1. Meanwhile, Fetty Wap's "My Way" earns the Streaming Gainer honor on the Hot 100, though it drops a spot to #8. The song climbs ten spots to #6 on Streaming Songs with 12.7 million streams, and it drops three spots to #5 on Digital Songs with 90,000 downloads sold. Additionally, the song finally dominates urban radio as it takes over the top spot on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.Top 20/40: Demi Lovato's "Cool for the Summer" rises five spots to #19 to become her sixth top-20 hit. The song jumps six spots to #12 on Digital Songs, while on Streaming Songs, it climbs 13 to #18 following the release of its video. The song ranks at #11 on Pop Songs. Meanwhile, two songs make their way into the top 40. Charlie Puth's "Marvin Gaye" flies 12 spots to #36, giving Charlie his second top-40 hit and Meghan Trainor her fourth. The song climbs nine spots to #18 on Digital Songs and ranks at #19 on Adult Pop Songs. Below Charlie, Meek Mill's "R.I.C.O." rises six spots to #40. The song is Meek's second top-40 and collaborator/beef partner Drake's 39th. It surges to #19 on Streaming Songs and to #9 on Hot Rap Songs.Further Down: Below the top 40, R. City's "Locked Away" is this week's biggest positional gainer, jumping 25 spots to #60 after debuting last week at #85. This week, the song debuts at #39 on Digital Songs. Beneath R. City, Janet's "No Sleeep" re-enters at a new peak of #63 following the release of its video on July 24. The song debuts at #50 on Streaming Songs and jumps to #7 on Hot R&B Songs. Finally, this week's highest-debuting song, Bea Miller's "Fire n Gold", arrives at #78. (Only one other song, Jason Derulo's "Cheyenne" debuts on this week's chart.) "Fire n Gold" starts at #31 on Digital Songs. Edited August 4, 20159 yr by dhwe

August 4, 20159 yr Author Since it looks like there'll be a bit of a fight for #1 next week, I've added a poll to make this thread more #interactive :arrr:
August 5, 20159 yr I did vote for the Weeknd but now thinking it could be cheerleader again because of this iTunes thing. Also is their a chance Rachel will repeak?
August 5, 20159 yr Author I think "Fight Song" has a shot at going top 5. It should rise above both Fetty songs next week, at the very least. Also, if this "CFMF" f***-up doesn't get fixed soon, it's gonna make the #1 fight reeeaaally dicey. The only thing that could make it dicier is if 1D drop a video out of nowhere before Friday. Edited August 5, 20159 yr by dhwe
August 5, 20159 yr Voted for The Weeknd hitting #1. Mostly out of ignorance of how much momentum Silentó has (curse you BB) but I can see Omi dropping to #3. Don't see 1D hitting #1 with sales being so much lower than they once were, even with them having their standard obscene lead over the iTunes #2.
August 5, 20159 yr Author Yeah, I think I'm going with "CFMF" too. I was unsure at first because 1D are looking to outsell The Weeknd 150K-200K, and they had that huge 1.2M first-day streaming number. I've been waiting for the Spotify chart to update to see where they are now and they've dropped to 2nd below The Weeknd. The Weeknd's been doing about 900K streams a day, so assuming 1D have been losing 100K in streams per day, then that should put them about on par with The Weeknd by Friday as far as Spotify is concerned. But then there are YouTube streams, which automatically puts The Weeknd above them. Edited August 5, 20159 yr by dhwe
August 5, 20159 yr Omi has had a decent run already, though. Like, it's not a massively long runner by Billboard standards or anything but I think anyone will take four weeks at #1. Would be nice to see The Weekend get a #1 for himself though - 'Can't Feel My Face' is pretty great, even if The Weeknd's current success kind of feels driven by everyone falling over themselves to prove how cool they are.

August 7, 20159 yr So ... Rihanna's label had quite the backlog to clear then. I didn't even realise US certifications weren't automatic - that's surprisingly backwards.
August 7, 20159 yr I'm hoping the Weeknd will nab the top spot at some point but I don't think it'll be next week :( Great to see Black Magic making progress this week! It'll be great to see this break into the top 100 in the future.
