We kick the top 20 off with 5 songs that all competed in Semi Final 3. First up is Aerosmith's rock ballad which is one of their biggest/probably biggest songs and does better than I expected here.

 

Another all time classic from Starship- though I prefer We Built This City- also improves well on the semi and makes the top 20. I love this songs use in The Skeleton Twins also.

 

A recent classic graces us in #18th by Charli XCX with Boom Clap from romance amazing based on a book movie, The Fault In Our Stars. Boom Clap is such an amazing catchy pop tune and I'm not surprised to do it do very well here and it came top 5 in the semi!

 

The final Lion King song to grace this years countdown is Elton John's version of can you feel the love tonight which I find better than the cast version. Elton's version is such a beautiful song so I am not surprised to see loads of love for it.

 

Completing this section is my favourite song in these 5, Listen by Beyoncé from Dreamgirls. Dreamgirls is one of my all time favourite musicals and this is Beyoncé's best moment of the movie for me, such a heartfelt and beautiful ballad. This was also performed with Alexandra Burke on the X-Factor and you can now here this- along with and I am telling...- every year at X-Factor!

LeAnn definitely was one of the most disappointing performers of the final for me after she got easily one of the highest points of the whole competition in the semi's. Can't Fight The Moonlight is a movie classic for me and such a great movie track.

 

I'm a bit surprised Take That did so well here, Rule The World is nice but I didn't think it was that popular or had so many lovers. The song had massive sales for 2007 I think but missed number 1 behind Leona.

 

After a excruciating tiebreak where they had the same amount of votes and same amount of 25's (I wonder who gave Idina a 25??), Idina fell at the next part as she only received 2 24's here. As you of course know, Let It Go is easily one of my favourite songs of all time and is such an amazing moment in the movie and for the music industry! Who can hit those notes as amazingly as Idina and turn this into an all time classic :wub: The song may have missed the top 10 but it is the only 'million seller' to never reach the top 10 :cheer: Continue slaying Queen Idina and hopefully she can hit top 10 here next year *.*

 

I said The Hanging Tree was the highest Hunger Games track here but alas it's not as I forgot Sia was set to come with another song that originally peaked at #11 but The Voice sent this to sneak into the top 10! I love both the solo version and the weeknd/diplo version and it is easily a Sia highlight!

 

And these #11 peaking songs are out in full force at the moment as we meet another one at number 11 in the form of Christina Perri with the beautiful A Thousand Years from the crappy Twilight movies. This was actually leading the results for quite a while but a massive drought with no points saw this freefall before picking up some late points to nearly crack the top 10!

'Pure Shores' has this in the bag I think (unless Ellie managed to capitalise on being the most recent entry and managed to get high averages). Either way, it's between them two. I would love for 'Everytime' to get it though. But I think I saw a couple of people deduct from it due to them not relating to it as a soundtrack single :(

Two of my favourite songs ever, let alone favourite movie songs kick off the top 10 in style for this year!

 

First up and beating #11 by quite a wide margin is the classic hit Breakaway from Kelly Clarkson which was in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. The song was originally recorded by Avril Lavigne but it then got passed onto Kelly who made a fantastic version of this song and would go on to name one of the best albums of all time after this song! This song is still stunning years later and hearing it on radio the other day felt so good :heart:

 

And a song on a same quality length as Breakaway is the stunning There You'll Be by Faith Hill which featured in pretty much hated Pearl Harbour. Faith's song is a beautiful heartbreaking ballad and got boosted heavily in the charts because of X-Factor quite a few years ago which is one of the best things X-Factor has done *.* I am so happy to see this make the top 10 and it is also the lowest finisher in the semi's (5th) to make the top 10 :heart:

Another 3 great movie tracks drop out in this section. First up is Vanessa Carlton who's A Thousand Miles became a massive hit after featuring in White Chicks I think and even though she is a one hit wonder, this song is fantastic and just edged out Faith Hill for 8th place.

 

Next up is by far the best and also highest here Bond theme courtesy of Adele's Skyfall which is about 1000000000x (which is probably overreacting) better than Sam Smith's new bond theme. The song did very well here and I expect it will continue to perform well with Adele's new album set to drop soon at last hopefully.

 

And a classic in the form of Jai Ho just misses the top 5 which I am surprised about as it did massive numbers in the semi's (possibly 2nd highest score across all the semi's I think). As usual you could only really hear Nicole's voice from The Pussycat Dolls and Jai Ho is from Slumdog Millionaire which also boosted Paper Planes by M.I.A. I love Jai Ho and it still remains a fantastic track 6 years on :heart:

This is definitely one of my favourite songs ever and it really is such a beautiful and fantastic ballad and the last chorus is just utterly perfection *.* The song went to #1 for ages and it beats the 'song' in 5th place here by quite a lot of points and does fantastic for a song not released this decade!

So already finishing top 3 is one of the most recent songs on this countdown, Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding from Fifty Shades Of Grey. The song was gigantic hit spending 4 weeks at number 1 and becoming a 'million seller'. I absolutely adore this song so I'm really glad it has done so well here :heart:

 

The runner-up comes in the form of a song that was featured in a scene in a movie but the song was released 10 years before the movie. Of course I'm talking about Britney Spears's beautiful classic ballad Everytime which is another UK chart number #1. This led the results quite a lot of the way through but fell down on the last few votes. This was also by far the biggest song in the semi's getting over 100 points more than anyone else.

 

So that means your winner is the absolute classic Pure Shores by All Saints. Despite not winning its own semi (and also getting 300 points less than Britney Spears in the semi's), Pure Shores picked up a lot more support in the final to become your winner for this year :heart:
