October 1, 20159 yr Author Another absorbing match it was between Wales and Fiji. Wales victorious and with one foot into the quarter-finals.
October 2, 20159 yr Author 22-10 to New Zealand against Georgia after 23 minutes at the Millennium Stadium. How do people see the match between England and Australia going?
October 2, 20159 yr Honestly I can see England losing that, crumbling under the weight of the pressure which is a huge shame. Everything crossed we can pull it out the bag though, what a shocker if we become the first host nation to exit at the Group Stage.
October 3, 20159 yr Author 10 minutes away from becoming the first host to be knocked out of the Group Stages. How embarrassing this will be.
October 3, 20159 yr Author Knocked out of the group stages in the football, rugby and cricket World Cups in a base of 16 months. What does that say about our national sport teams? Goodbye Stuart Lancaster.
October 3, 20159 yr Knocked out of the group stages in the football, rugby and cricket World Cups in a base of 16 months. What does that say about our national sport teams? Stick to F1 & Darts. We're good at those
October 4, 20159 yr Have to say, I felt quite sorry for England earlier, especially with the fans walking out early and booing during the post-match interviews. What a complete disaster to be knocked out at this stage, and with one match still to go (not that they deserved to beat Australia with the way they played or anything). Anyone else think Burgess' high tackle (which was also off the ball) was just as bad, if not worse, than the one Farrell deservedly got a yellow card for?! Couldn't believe he got away with that. :o Looking forward to Ireland v Italy tomorrow. :cheer:
October 4, 20159 yr Author Burgess's high tackle was definitely bad and should have been a yellow card at least. The Ireland v Italy should be a good game.
October 4, 20159 yr We bottled the Wales game, so I never had much confidence against a far better Australia team. I'd appreciate it if France actually started turning up, otherwise I'm supporting Ireland.
October 4, 20159 yr I think I'm all guilt-free behind Japan now. And then... the All Blacks if Scotland beat Samoa and knock Japan out. Bit embarassing for England, I thought we were supposed to be pretty reliable at rugby if nothing else.
October 4, 20159 yr I really want to back my team Scotland, it's just my luck in the sweepstakes at work I drew Japan.
October 4, 20159 yr Everybody jumping ship now I see...! Outclassed last night by a superior Australian team. Can't believe some people were saying that no Australian player would get into the England team.
October 4, 20159 yr My best mate at uni is Welsh and one of my flatmates, f*** it I'll join them
October 4, 20159 yr Author I'll be joining the support for Wales as well. Ireland through to the quarter-finals with a close 16-9 victory over Italy now they will play France for a battle for the top spot.
October 5, 20159 yr Ireland through to the quarter-finals with a close 16-9 victory over Italy now they will play France for a battle for the top spot. Indeed, much closer than anyone expected really, which is a real credit to the Italians' skill and determination. Very thankful for O'Mahony's try-saving tackle :drama:! I hope the match has given the Irish lads a minor shock so that they prepare themselves properly for this weekend, as there's no way they can put in a lacklustre performance against the French and expect to get away with it. Would be amazing to finish top of the group and not have to face New Zealand in the QF.
October 11, 20159 yr Author Good win for Ireland over France in a very bruising encounter which finished 24-9 to Ireland.
October 11, 20159 yr Ireland really pulled it together in the second half :D. Delighted they won the group! Fingers crossed Argentina won't prove too much of a challenge.
October 11, 20159 yr Author Quarter-Finals: South Africa v Wales New Zealand v France Ireland v Argentina Australia v Scotland
October 11, 20159 yr Author Japan become the first nation to win three games in the pool stages and still not make the quarter-finals. We'll see you in four years time. A plucky performance throughout the tournament just that defeat to Scotland which was their downfall.
