February 24, 20169 yr This album really is fantastic, although I really don't get the love for 'Lost & Found'. It's all about 'Don't Need Nobody', 'Don't Panic' and 'Keep On Dancin'' for me right now. I don't get why everyone is saying this album is doing badly. 'On My Mind' had a decent peak and stuck around and 'Army' has gone top twenty. No better or worse than singles from 'Lights' or 'Halcyon'.
February 25, 20169 yr 'Something In The Way You Move' is probably the best thing Ellie has done, I can't believe how much I'm stanning for her this campaign especially considering how annoying 'On My Mind' got.
March 22, 20169 yr Thankfully me and the general public both agree 'Something In The Way You Move' is terrible as is the album
March 24, 20169 yr "Keep On Dancin'" has been chosen as the third UK single from "Delirium": From The POPshock: The POPshock gets over 50 press releases and submissions every day – but today marked the first time we received one about shampoo. Specifically Ellie Goulding joining Pantene for their "Strong Is Beautiful" campaign. And with this brand new endorsement deal comes a brand new single. So much for that early retirement... "Keep On Dancin'" is easily one of the stronger tracks from Ellie's underappreciated Delirium album, with its Asian fusion production and lyrics penned by Ryan Tedder and Nicole Morier, so we're sure radio will eat up the brand new version of the track hitting Spotify next month. March 24, 20169 yr I really hope this is true and I wish this would be the next US single as well instead of "Army".
March 24, 20169 yr Why are they avoiding 'Something In The Way You Move' here? :( Ugh. Could be a worse choice though.
March 24, 20169 yr I like KOD, it's a catchy little bop but not sure if it's what the public are willing to support :(
March 24, 20169 yr Having seen three dates of the tour, I'm sort of apprehensive at how well this will do as a single. It didn't get the best reaction from the crowds. Curious to hear what the new version will sound like though.
March 24, 20169 yr Because SITWYM has absolutely bombed. In the US? She's hardly a HUGE artist there anyway, she's had like 2 hits to her name.
March 24, 20169 yr I would have preferred Codes to Keep On Dancin', but the latter is still one of the best tracks so I'm not too disappointed. It does seem strange that they're passing on Something In The Way You Move though.
March 24, 20169 yr Not my ideal choice tbh :( Still good though Edited March 24, 20169 yr by HarryEzra
March 24, 20169 yr Because SITWYM has absolutely bombed. I blame the video and also the whole kind of shit song thing.
March 24, 20169 yr I blame the video and also the whole kind of shit song thing. Something In The Way You Move is easily the best thing Ellie's done for me, the video is absolutely horrific though and hasn't helped the song in the slightest.
March 26, 20169 yr I saw Ellie live tonight (well, last night now) and she was sensational. I saw her on the last tour but I enjoyed it even more this time, it was pretty much wall-to-wall great songs. Keep On Dancin' clicked after hearing it live, although I'm still not sure it's the best choice commercially thinking. I am ALL OVER Lost and Found right now too
March 26, 20169 yr ^ woop! The tour is perfect. Because SITWYM has absolutely bombed. It was top 15 on US itunes with zero promo before the video came out. It only fell down (think it peaked at 46) because they didn't bloody promote it anywhere. She's not Rihanna, she can't get away with not performing on TV. It's a clear hit and should be released here. That said Keep On Dancing is life so I'm good with this. Edited March 26, 20169 yr by jark
March 27, 20169 yr Hilary Duff's album got #1 on the iTunes US charts with minimum promo... still a flop.
April 3, 20169 yr In the US? She's hardly a HUGE artist there anyway, she's had like 2 hits to her name. She is pretty big here actually, as far as name recognition goes at least. Lights, Burn, Love Me Like You Do, and On My Mind were all massive here. I love SITWYM and I expected a much better chart run, not only in the US but worldwide as well - at least Top 10 in New Zealand or something! I would have preferred Codes to Keep On Dancin', but the latter is still one of the best tracks so I'm not too disappointed. It does seem strange that they're passing on Something In The Way You Move though. I wouldn't mind Codes as a single either but I'm not surprised they went with Keep On Dancin'. It has been the most popular album track on iTunes since the album was released and was also the only non-instant grat to chart. I find it nice but far from amazing, so I'm hoping the single edit gives it a bit more oomph. Personally, I'd love to see Aftertaste released as a single but I'm sure that's an unpopular opinion. Lost & Found could do well too. Despite SITWYM's poor performance worldwide, I still think it needs to be released in the UK. Really, they should've just released it instead of Army, and then it might've fared better in the rest of Europe as well. It was top 15 on US itunes with zero promo before the video came out. It only fell down (think it peaked at 46) because they didn't bloody promote it anywhere. She's not Rihanna, she can't get away with not performing on TV. While I want to believe this is the case as I'm in love with the song and think it screams hit, it did get a lot of radio support here. Streams and sales just didn't follow. This points to the fact that it just wasn't connecting with the general public. I kept hearing that people liked the song, but not enough to actually download it - one of those songs that comes on the radio and you don't change the station, but would never go out of your way to listen to it. Then again, a simple feature under Hot Tracks on iTunes did push it into the Top 20, so maybe it just needed more exposure? Who knows. I just know that it reached #26 on overall radio, #13 on pop radio, #12 on adult pop radio, #25 on adult radio, and was getting spun on rhythmic radio. To do that well on so many formats and only reach #43 on the Hot 100 and hover around #70 on Spotify is pretty bad.
