as the chart heads for yet another dire week, with no significant new entries, when do you think the next serious threat on the top spot will come?

with justin bieber looking to make it 5 weeks at number one, i'm beginning to lose interest in this chart.

Adele's new single and album, if released, will shake up both charts.
Could have been worse if Sigala and Sam Smith didn't get to #1, 7 weeks -_- thank god for the breaks in between.

Well if you look at the streaming chart, Bieber is heading for his seventh week at No. 1.

The number 1s on that chart for 2015:

2015

04 Jan Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk” (6) +2 weeks in 2014

15 Feb Ellie Goulding “Love Me Like You Do” (4)

15 Mar Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney “FourFiveSeconds” (3)

05 Apr Years & Years “King” (2)

19 Apr Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth “See You Again” (2)

03 May OMI “Cheerleader” (8)

28 Jun Major & DJ Snake ft. MØ “Lean On” (2)

10 Jul Lost Frequencies “Are You With Me” (4)

07 Aug Major & DJ Snake ft. MØ “Lean On” (1)

14 Aug Calvin Harris & Disciples “How Deep Is Your Love” (3)

^04 Sep Justin Bieber “What Do You Mean” (6*)

^= debut at No. 1

You must have had a hard time when Rihanna reigned for 10 weeks with Umbrella

Umbrella was at least better than the awful Bieber song.

The chart is extremely boring now and has been for years. Songs hang around forever, multiple songs by the same artist bob up and down and everybody 'features' on everybody else's tracks. Practically no chance for anyone to breakthrough, let alone get to number one.

They really wont. It'll be a very temporary effect. They'll just become long runners like everything else.

Agreed.
