I'm not saying you're wrong - in fact all the evidence seems to be that you're right - but I don't quite know how that works. Surely if you're a fan and it's a new song you haven't got, you want to buy/stream it anyway, whether or not there's been a single before it? And if you're only a casual listener, you probably don't care how far they are into an album campaign.

From what I've seen, the first song from a campaign like this seems to get more hype because it's reported all over the web as "omg 1D's comeback!!!!1!" etc, particularly for Drag Me Down which is the first song of theirs without Zayn. Subsequent promo singles and proper singles don't get quite the same level of coverage I don't think. The current 5SOS campaign has gone similarly too.

Same can also be said for Major Lazer. At least it's out of the top 10 which is good. "Lean On" should be renamed "Move On" which is what people should be doing with that song. Speaking of Diplo, I want BRT to climb higher

How Deep Is Your Love is a bop though and I can see why CFMF is successful, I just find the Pia track dull.

Considering it's had Capital/Kiss support and is on it's 4th week on Radio 1's A-list, Nick Jonas' 'Levels' is really struggling with streaming.

Maybe it would've done better chartwise if it wasn't an OA/OS release. But based on its current performance that would probably mean a NLR 'Around the World' style run, oop.
