Wow plenty of new entries this week! Not got much to say about Elle King really, think I heard it once and it sounded OK. Is it getting a UK push do you know?

 

As for the Troye songs, I haven't heard 'Talk Me Down' but 'Wild' is great, and I'm glad Radio 1 are supporting it. What does annoy me though is why he has to capitalise the song titles - one of my pet hates!!

 

Not overly fussed about KDA, it's alright but hardly the dance song of the year. Glad it's given Katy B a #1 though, she deserves that. MNEK also is nothing amazing, and the Disclosure track is probably my least favourite of all their singles.

 

I quite like the Rudimental single - very watered down for them, but what it lacks in edginess it makes up for in catchiness, which no doubt is Ed's influence. Definitely the best they've released so far this era.

 

That just leaves Years & Years - a very nice ballad from them for Q4, and it looks like it will give them another chart hit. I wonder if they'll release anything else from the album or just move on to the next album next year?

 

I expect you'll be charting 'Hello' next week? :)

I'm not too sure in regards to Elle King. I see she pushed the song in America last year and it did well, but I don't know if there's plans to do so here, or even if she already tried. I just saw it in another personal chart and thought it was super catchy.

 

I'm preferring 'Talk Me Down' but both are great so I have no complaints at Radio 1 supporting 'Wild'. Really cool dreamy sound. Yeah, the capitalising is a bit pretentious but I'll roll with it.

 

Yeah, nothing groundbreaking about the KDA song but I'm finding it catchy for the moment, and it definitely helps that Katy B is on the track as I'm a fan of her work. Same goes for MNEK, good for now but probably not long.

 

'Jaded' doesn't seem to have had a great reaction - most people want the Lorde collab - but I'm quite enjoying it. I think Howard has a lovely voice and would like him to sing on songs more.

 

Agreed over Rudimental, they've not really captured anyone's interests so selling out a little definitely does them some favours.

 

'Eyes Shut' is doing well so far on just TV airplay so I can see this being big over winter following inevitably big radio support, the Children in Need performance and likely X Factor performance. I do hope they'll release more from the album as they have a lot more to offer.

Happy to see Adele debut at #1. Whilst it's nothing ground-breaking, it really is a beautiful song, the flawless vocals delivered with such emotion! Not surprised at its staggering sales either, and I'm looking forward to seeing how quickly it passes the million mark :)

 

Not too fussed about that Gaga song, but hopefully she'll deliver with the next album.

 

That Ellie Goulding instant grat is really good, makes me excited for the album. Although I don't think Army is that great, so I'd have preferred 'Something In The Way You Move' to be the next single, but maybe it will be at some point.

 

Quite like the Låpsley track, she has a really unique voice doesn't she? Although I must confess when I first heard the song, I did think it was a man singing :lol:

07 This has really impacted on me since it's been made a single. Really beautiful, hope they get an X Factor performance for it, although I imagine it'll be a hit regardless. Y&Y have been so on point with their singles.

 

08 You must! Granted I listened to it a little too much at first, hence that sharp fall, but it'll be sticking around a long while yet. Can't wait for more Sia music, her last album was easily my favourite of 2014.

 

12 Oh good! Did you enjoy? I thought this song worked really well in the opening titles and most definitely when the instrumental was used throughout the film. :heart:

 

23 It's super good but I wouldn't go quite that far (that title obvs goes to 'Bills' :heehee:). That said, I've not yet heard it on a night out which could just change everything.

 

31 Yeah, really cool vibe to it - Radio 1 would love it if only they played female artists over 40. I wasn't too keen on the album though. :( Enjoy her show though, I've heard nothing but good stuff about it!

I'm interested to hear Ellie's album but the quality has been very hit and miss for me. Then again, so was her last album (Lights/Bright Lights remains perfection).

 

I knew adele would be #1 here before I even opened your chart :lol:

I wasn't keen on it at first but I'm loving it now and the videos fantastic. Has she lost weight?

Happy to see Adele debut at #1. Whilst it's nothing ground-breaking, it really is a beautiful song, the flawless vocals delivered with such emotion! Not surprised at its staggering sales either, and I'm looking forward to seeing how quickly it passes the million mark :)

 

Not too fussed about that Gaga song, but hopefully she'll deliver with the next album.

 

That Ellie Goulding instant grat is really good, makes me excited for the album. Although I don't think Army is that great, so I'd have preferred 'Something In The Way You Move' to be the next single, but maybe it will be at some point.

 

Quite like the Låpsley track, she has a really unique voice doesn't she? Although I must confess when I first heard the song, I did think it was a man singing :lol:

I don't think people want ground-breaking from Adele, just really strong songs that captures a great deal of beauty and pain combined, which is exactly what she's managed again! As a chart fan, her sales make me soooo happy and long may it continue!

 

Yeah, I hope she gets it right with her next album - ARTPOP was too messy, even with some of the good songs. Hopefully she'll learn from past mistakes.

 

I think 'Something in the Way You Move' sounds a lot like a single so I too hope it'll be released as one at some point. I had a listen to 'Army' and it's alright, but I most definitely prefer this.

 

She does, yeah! And the production compliments it so well. :heart: Haha, had never thought of that, but I know what you mean! :P
