Literally gutted that she's left, and as much as she deserved it, I'm annoyed that Bob won another challenge as his basically cements him as the winner of Season 8. Props to Derrick for finally doing something memorable (she was actually hilarious) and also well done to the bae Naomi who is really, really pulling through now. Kim is still my firm favourite and I don't think her Ad was *that* bad, I'm glad she was safe - she's gonna slay the ball challenge next week anyway. :cheer: Chi Chi is so precious omg, let's hope she gets out of her head and back in the mindset that she was in at the beginning of the competition because I really would love to see her get to the Top 4 at least! :heart:

Naomi is easily my fave at this stage, I love a good underdog and she is really likeable as a person. Kim Chi is as well but I sadly don't think she's that good of a drag queen really. :(

This is very much a Katya situation for me.

 

Definitely one of my favourites of the series (Thorgy too) but if you have a week where you are among the weakest in the challenge and then you lose the lip sync, you go home. That's just the way it is.

 

So I'm sad to see Thorgy out and I really thought she would be top 3. But 30 pages of writing for that ad (at least Kim's had some landed jokes) and to be town to shreds in the lip sync (even though she still wasn't bad) - I can't argue with that result based on the week.

I haven't seen one runway look from Bob that even comes near Kim Chi and Naomi's. I find Bob rests on personality, but the actual drag, it's too rough around the edges for me - and not in a good Chi Chi kind of way.

As soon as Thorgy said at the start of the episode, that Chi-Chi (or Derrick) should be the one to go, when she was paired with Chi-Chi I called bottom 2 for both and Thorgy losing the lipsynch.

 

Thorgy came across like the didn't know the words, especially with the over the top mouth movements. Chi-Chi really got the passion of the song down, so on the lipsynch deserved to stay.

 

I really liked this episode, I thought the challenge was great, and managed to be different enough from season 4 where they also did the political challenge due to election year. The best duo one. Unless Bob really f***s up in the next challenge or two, I can't see anyone other than Bob winning. Naomi and Kim-Chi as the other two in the final.

I don't mind Bob's drag. It isn't up their with Kim and Naomi I agree, but I liked the curtain dress (and that damn purse!) Her lacey thing in week 2 was nice, and I loved this weeks, and her Madonna, so she has been hit and miss. But she is easily the strongest left in, and has been the most consistently good of any queen this season. But as with Thorgy, it stands for little if she has a bad week. But in my eyes, she's the only one left in who would make a good winner (As it stands - Naomi is really making me take notice, and Kim Chi could easily pull it out of the bag too)

Poor Thorgy, I really didn't see her leaving before Naomi, Chi Chi or Derrick but they really pulled in front in this episode.

I really don't get Kim Chi.. yes, the make up is amazing but she's so woe-is-me and couldn't pull off the 'next drag superstar' title.

100% agree that Bob is getting a favourable edit. They're sort of on a redemption trail with her.. She was the overconfident big head.

and now she's humbling after enjoying being paired with the train-wreck that is Derrick. It's kinda what they did with Bianca.. showing us that she was pretty sweet really.

Just caught up and :cry: :cry: at Thorgy's exit. So gutted as she is genuinely one of the most likable queens over the whole 8 seasons of the show personality wise.

 

That lipsync though, one of the best I've ever seen. Chi Chi is a force to be reckoned with, anyone who goes up against her is really in for it. Overall the episode was fantastic. Every queen looked fantastic on the runway, a massive massive step up from two very mediocre runway weeks. Also none of the campaign videos were awful; the worst was probably Thorgy's but even that I thought was a decent attempt.

 

Even though Derrick did better than Thorgy at this challenge it must be one of the biggest injustices ever that she managed to outlast her in this competition. Derrick has been consistently bad and then had a good week. Thorgy has been consistently good and had one off week. So heartbreaking :cry:

it's weird now that thorgy's gone I don't see a STAR top 3. it's obvious yhat Bob and Kim will be there but I feel like they have been locked into the final before the series even started. like honestly Kim hasn't had HALF the star presence I was expecting.

 

then you have Naomi who is beaut but without the real kinda personality violet had to back it up, chi chi who is a fighter but not at ALL polished and derrick who is just plain boring 98% of the time. none of them scream top 3 the way thorgy did or any queen who has made the top 3 in past seasons.

 

I'm expecting Kim to get a FAB edit from now on and to win, with Bob and then I guess Naomi top 3 with her.

thorgy on untucked broke my heart. she's so strong and amazing and funny. i don't get why she left so early.

 

bob's campaign was the best though and 4 of the rest were lacklustre, let's be honest. loved derrick's as well but it was too hyped by the judges.

As if Thorgy left before Derrick I mean he deserved top 5 at least!!!!!

I think for this week, Thorgy was definitely right to go. Weak campaign ruined by too many ideas, and in the lip sync I do think Chi Chi deserved to stay. It's definitely a Katya situation in that it's just a shame that at this stage all it takes is one little slip up in one challenge, but this series is way stronger than last series too which didn't help, although I do agree it feels really unfair that Derrick's had more than a few off weeks and is fine, but Thorgy had one bad week and is gone, however it is later into the competition when the standard is so high :(

 

Derrick and Bob's campaigns were by far the best but I did like Kim and Naomi's too. Chi Chi and Thorgy were indeed the weakest two, and then Thorgy's runway didn't help either, it was still good but it felt like a really high standard and it was just bad luck that, of all weeks, this was her bad week. I still can't really see past a Bob win, like Bianca, but I think Kim Chi could take it and I am really rooting for her <3 I don't find Bob that bad the past few episodes, the insufferable arrogance seems to have waned and it looks like they're editing so that she looks like she's had a real journey and changed loads along the way. Talent wise, like through all the challenges, you really can't argue with Bob winning, even if on the runway the quality isn't quite the same.

I really don't see the Thorgy fuss, she was solid and had some great moments, but there was always someone better than her every week, which is why she never won. And her bitter/jealous personality was annoying in this week's Untucked!

In a Reddit thread, user rejectsandlosers recalled the show’s premiere, where contestants Acid Betty and Bob the Drag Queen both singled out Derrick Barry as having to go into the witness protection program after the show ends.

Very impressed with the video of Kim Chi lip-syncing 'And I Am Telling You', didn't know she had it in her at all.

I'd read that about her in the run up to the competition that she's an incredible lip syncer. Lord, can we not have a Chi Chi vs Kim Chi lip sync, because I don't think I could cope :'(

FANTASTIC EPISODE. With exactly the outcome I wanted from it. It was a struggle to properly see the dresses on the live stream I had but Kim Chi definitely seemed to have the complete package with it, for sure. And CHI CHI, my girl <3 That book dress complete with accessories was fantastic and great that she finally got to show them how good she can be with unconventional materials. A definite 2nd place and I pray she can just hang in one more episode for that final.

 

The bottom two was correct for sure, the top 3 and bottom 2 were clear cut. I've never wanted Bob to win so much in this whole competition but after such a bad episode from Derrick, both outfit-wise and in his arguments with Naomi, I was DELIGHTED to see him go. And it would've been a bit of a joke for him to make it over the other 4 who are just way ahead of him at this stage, for sure. Bob also seemed a lot more humble this episode and even if he isn't my favourite, I still won't begrudge him that win because he does feel like "the next drag superstar" in his comedy.

 

I really can't call who will be 4th. I imagine it's PROBABLY between Chi Chi and Naomi and I'm gonna be disappointed whoever goes at this stage. I didn't care for Kennedy or Ginger at this point last year but I can absolutely say I really like all the top 4 for totally different reasons. A testament to what has proven to be a great series, for sure.

I don't disagree with any of the decisions. I couldn't decide who I liked better between Kim and Chi Chi's runway, so was happy with either winning! Naomi just behind. Bob I think did a great job too, but just nowhere near the top 3, so obviously bottom 2. I was convinced Bob was going home ala Dela, and Derrick was gonna survive ala Darriene despite having a dreadful episode, but Bob killed her in the lip sync, Derrick looked messy which I was not expecting, where Bob was feeling it; obviously not as good as last week's lip sync, but what is?!

 

This top 4 I think is the tightest and best top 4 they've ever had! In the sense that I can't call who will be 4th, at all, and they're all soooo likable which other season's strong top 4 has had at least one villain. I have a feeling it might be Chi Chi, but they were so positive about her while the girls were in untucked, that it might not. But whoever it is will be a loss. Kinda hoping he just says f*** it, let's have a top 4, ala all stars!

 

Naomi and Chi Chi should be so proud as well. I think most expected Bob and Kim to be top 3 from day one, I think barely anyone predicted it for either of these 2, and at least one of them will, and they both deserve it, and are absolutely contenders to win the damn thing.

 

Losing someone next week will be hard, and emotional for sure.

Possibly one of my favourite drag race episodes ever?

 

I f***ing loved Naomi telling Derrick about herself and seeing as the drama unfold. Derrick's attempt at eyebrows was hysterically funny and there were too many moments that had me properly laughing. Thank god Derrick is gone, her runway was pathetic compared to everyone else and she really did struggle to give us what we wanted from her the entire way though. At least she added some comedy to proceedings though by somehow making the top 5.

 

What a top 4 though. I am still backing Naomi for the win and this episode only solidified that; like Ross Matthews said she really is ticking all the boxes and I was in love with every single one of her runway looks. I am so glad the editing is letting her personality shine through so much more now, she is now very worthy of her place.

 

Kim Chi's final look was one of the best I've ever seen on drag race and definitely her best of the season so I completely support her win for the challenge. Chi Chi really turned it in a way I didn't expect too; by far and away her most polished looking runway to date. I've always thought she would be a deserving winner if she could bring her runway up to the standard of her performance abilities and tonight she did so. We will see if she manages to keep it up next week.

 

Unfortunately I still think Bob is the winner. 3 wins under his belt and they started to attempt to show a vulnerable side of him with the mother story. Also, makes it seem like a more open and exciting race by having him in the bottom two and making it look like he isn't indestructible, but I still think Ru loves how funny he is and he will still take it. After being my complete favourite at the beginning, he is probably the one I want to win the least now but oh well.
