i don't know if it's the 'mum' thing that i really got out of the speech, for me it was more that she was the fat awkward gay kid who has outgrown the weight but not the awkwardness - a lot of these drag race story arcs show people losing weight and becoming 'fabulous' and 'fierce' and just fitting in so well but it's not always the case, some of us gay kids just stay awkward and weird and have to embrace that which can be really difficult. she overcame that with her sense of art instead of her sense of typical drag personality which is something we've not really seen as much in drag race, and it was beautiful to see

 

 

And that's why I think she'll win. She's a brand new kind of drag, visually amazing and will definitely appeal to those that empathise with her..

Kim Chi definitely became my winner in this episode. I don't think it's necessarily about being the best drag queen, Adore wasn't the best drag queen but she was so personable and loveable with a certain edge that meant that for all her flaws, you could see past them and fall in love with her and back her for the win. I feel like that with Kim, only she's less patchy. Naomi is obviously gorgeous but aside from being a supermodel, I don't think she has enough command to be a 'drag superstar'. And Bob, as many have mentioned, does have a slight feel of second-rate Bianca. Kim is the only one who I feel completely drawn into in all aspects and that's despite not really getting the hype for the first 3 episodes.

As for that episode, I was f***ing GUTTED Chi Chi went even though I knew it was coming, actually nearly cried. :(

I am still not over Kim's mother look last week inspired by her mother, easily one of my faves I've ever seen on this show. I've said this already but "she says it all without saying anything" hit me so hard, that explains everything I love about her drag more succinctly than I ever could.
