46 Fifth Harmony - BO$$ - 1-2-4-6-12-17-23-37-X (8 weeks)

47 Ulrik Munther - Alltid leva, aldrig dö - 1-4-11-21-26-26-29-36-37-X (9 weeks)

48 David Guetta - Hey Mama (feat. Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha & Afrojack) - 40-X-34-20-10-8-5-3-5-14-24-37-X (11 non-consecutive weeks)

49 Taylor Swift - Blank Space - 15-7-8-11-14-13-17-1-3-9-16-21-33-X (13 weeks)

50 Tove Lo - Talking Body - 25-22-29-34-X-23-7-12-22-35-37-X (10 non-consecutive weeks)

Perhaps looking slightly out of place here, Talking Body is the second highest ranked song to miss my chart's top 5. Tove Lo was a name I was interested in from Stay High (wasn't massively fussed on Run On Love during BJSC but it grew), and Queen of the Clouds proved to be a solid album. Talking Body became the standout for me when it got a single push, a polished pop song for sure. Her tone of voice is incredibly appealing too, I just wish I gave it a longer chart run!

Taylor Swift drops out next as the first of three #1s in this section. Blank Space seems to be hailed as the best Taylor song ever by many but for me it doesn't come close - Wildest Dreams is still to come in this countdown and there are numerous older songs I prefer. Blank Space is still undoubtedly strong though, sneaking a week at #1 during a quiet period in the very first week of 2015. The video is also one of the best of the year (although Taylor hasn't disappointed this era on music videos at all)!

Whether I like David Guetta's songs or not tends to depend on the vocalist (as with any DJ), but despite that, I'd not really loved many Guetta songs before Hey Mama happened. Hey Mama proved to be a lasting presence in my affections, peaking on its 7th week in my chart (and falling quickly after oops), and becoming Guetta's first top 10 hit. Nicki is on top form on this track too, becoming only her second top 3 hit after the #1 single Bang Bang in 2014 (her 7th top 10 though, with Bitch I'm Madonna making it 8 later in the year).

The third single from Ulrik's third album, Alltid leva, aldrig dö entered straight at #1 in my chart the week it was announced as the follow-up to Nån gång. It's his least successful #1 single but it still had some good top 40 longevity after the quick initial drops. I really enjoy the song and it's got a really anthemic chorus. It is his fifth #1 to date and eighth top 10 (with Närmare himlen making it 9). Fun fact, Ulrik's also the only artist to send a foreign language song to #1 in my chart :magic:

Another #1 single, this time from girl group Fifth Harmony. BO$$ topped my chart at the end of 2014, becoming the fourth girl group in total to top my chart (after The Saturdays, Girls Aloud and G.R.L.). It was after their X Factor performance that the song impacted for me, having heard it months before and not really being phased. It's still my favourite song of theirs, insanely catchy with a really strong chorus for me. Should've been a much bigger hit!

PICK OF THE SECTION

Tove Lo, Swifty, Guetta, Urlik and also FH :cheer:

Tove Lo is my favourite from this section for sure

46-60, I love/like the following:

46 Fifth Harmony - BO$$ - 1-2-4-6-12-17-23-37-X (8 weeks)

48 David Guetta - Hey Mama (feat. Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha & Afrojack) - 40-X-34-20-10-8-5-3-5-14-24-37-X (11 non-consecutive weeks)

49 Taylor Swift - Blank Space - 15-7-8-11-14-13-17-1-3-9-16-21-33-X (13 weeks) Blank Space is her best, silly!

50 Tove Lo - Talking Body - 25-22-29-34-X-23-7-12-22-35-37-X (10 non-consecutive weeks)

51 Demi Lovato - Cool for the Summer - 2-3-9-11-17-18-27-24-28-31-34-39-X (12 weeks) Bit low ;o :bemusedpoot: http://i3.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/masonry/001/032/275/e86.jpg

52 Fifth Harmony - Worth It (feat. Kid Ink) - 13-23-26-38-X-32-22-17-16-14-7-14-20-26-36-X (14 non-consecutive weeks) *.* possibly my fave of theirs so far, although funnily enough it's their lowest peaking in my chart... Bo$$ reached #4, Sledgehammer #3 and Worth It #5!

54 Justin Bieber - Love Yourself - 30-3-5-… (3+ weeks) If you like the way you look that much oh baby you should go and love yourself xoxox

57 Skrillex & Diplo - Where Are Ü Now (feat. Justin Bieber) - 30-24-22-17-23-30-32-X-25-33-36-X-37-X (11 non-consecutive weeks) When I show myself to stan harder for a Justin Bieber track than you, something's up! :') #3 peak in my chart ;O

60 AURORA - Half the World Away - 22-2-6-14-… (4+ weeks) I never quite got into this. It's ok, but the poor hen didn't crack my Top 40 :')

41 Lia Marie Johnson - Moment Like You - 2-3-3-5-10-8-17-23-29-33-40-X (11 weeks)

42 Alesha Dixon - The Way We Are - 3-10-11-13-22-27-3-4-11-15-23-30-X (12 weeks)

43 Hozier - Take Me To Church - 38-X-22-4-2-5-8-11-16-25-29-30-36-40-X (13 non-consecutive weeks)

44 Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband - 9-5-8-12-9-10-19-27-33-X (9 weeks)

45 Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You - 3-5-6-9-9-14-16-20-21-28-38-X (11 weeks)

Becoming an unexpected hit in the UK, I Really Like You proved that Carly Rae Jepsen didn't just get a fluke with Call Me Maybe and Good Time in 2012. The song is bubblegum pop and in all honesty, this is how I prefer Carly, rather some of the more serious pop on the album, which is still good but it has nothing on Kiss, where this song could quite happily sit. I do wish the success of this led to greater charts success for her afterwards though :( I Really Like You became Carly's second highest charter for me, peaking at #3, just behind the #1 peak achieved by Call Me Maybe over three years ago.

Meghan Trainor seems to divide opinion here on Buzzjack but I'm a huge fan, and Dear Future Husband is a song that gets way too much hate. I'm not sure I particularly agree with the concept of the lyrics but I can't say the lyrics hugely bother me in uptempo tracks like this. It's such a bop and perfect to sing along to. I remember hearing it for the first time and thinking !!! when it got to the middle 8 - "I'll be sleeping on the left side of the bed, open doors for me and you might get some........ kisses" :') All About That Bass remains my favourite by Meghan but this is damn close to it.

A HUGE grower now! Take Me To Church was sent by BJSC by Rich in 2013 and it made absolutely no impression on me. Even when it entered the chart about a year later, it still made no impression for a while. It eventually started to grow with repeated listens before it suddenly hit me out of nowhere and I fell in love with it  Hozier's voice mixed with the deep lyrics make the track sound incredible. I never anticipated myself liking it so much, or for it to be such a big hit officially, but it's so well deserved. It will be very tough for him to top this.

Ball's favourite artist Alesha Dixon made her comeback single The Way We Are ineligible for the UK chart, but it certainly wasn't the same on my own chart where it peaked at #3 on debut, and again when the rap mix got released. The song is an uptempo bop, with Alesha proving that she's not lost her ability to make great pop songs during her break, which lasted way too long. Sadly, nothing on the album came close to this track, but nonetheless, I'm glad we got new music from her and I hope the flop of the entire campaign doesn't put her off releasing more music in the future. Also: I always choose the rap mix to listen to nowadays. The original feels WRONG in comparison.

Finally, only just missing my top 40, is the song that broke the curse of the second BJSC contest of the year for me. In the years before, I'd always DNQ'd in the second contest of that year. Lia didn't just break the curse by qualifying, she also gave me my second top 10 hit, a year and a half after the first! I was delighted at this overperformance and it's a song that's truly worthy of it. Lia provides a huge pop song, with vocals reminiscent of Ariana Grande. It finishes here as the third highest of my BJSC entries of 2015 - only Conrad and Ulrik remain.

PICK OF THE SECTION

Blank Space is not even CLOSE to being Taylor's best, my dear x

3 Justin Bieber

I've switched this top 3 around a lot since I first typed up the list but I think (and hope) I'm settled now  What a year 2015 has been for Justin Bieber! I've been a fan since early 2011 but it 2015 that was the year when everyone else got on board. He's dominated the charts left, right and centre, having a huge 9 songs in the top 40 at one point, and three #1s within as many months. It's crazy to think it's the same person that everyone seemed to hate before Where Are Ü Now happened. What Do You Mean? was a song I was extremely hyped for, particularly as a snippet of it leaked about a month before release and I was loving the new sound he had going. The full song didn't disappoint either and I'm so delighted it's been a massive hit for him.

Sorry followed of course, and it was yet another great song from Justin, showing he was well and truly back on track after the ropey Journals era. Purpose was a huge return to form, back to the standards of My Worlds and Believe. I actually like each album for different reasons really. My Worlds is youthful and quite clichéd really but it's a fun listen and holds so many memories. Believe is a perfect pop album, more mature than it probably gets credit for, and I'd say it's just about my favourite album of his, but Purpose could top that soon. Purpose is an excellent reinvention and whilst not a million miles away from Believe, I didn't see this album coming still. It's still undeniably Justin but he's made himself "cool" to like, which is very impressive. Keep up the domination Justin, I know I'm loving it

46 Fifth Harmony - BO$$ - 1-2-4-6-12-17-23-37-X (8 weeks) Fifth Harmony at their best! :music: Sledgehammer should have smashed at least a little bit, and Worth It was probably only big because of its Talk Dirty similarities and its Jeremih feature :P

48 David Guetta - Hey Mama (feat. Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha & Afrojack) - 40-X-34-20-10-8-5-3-5-14-24-37-X (11 non-consecutive weeks) one of his weakest singles but I'm guessing you like it because of the featuring artists :P

49 Taylor Swift - Blank Space - 15-7-8-11-14-13-17-1-3-9-16-21-33-X (13 weeks) very nice vocals here :music: done very well this era, Taylor has.

50 Tove Lo - Talking Body I didn't catch on with this as much as the majority of the forum did, Timebomb was my jam though :music:

51 Demi Lovato - Cool for the Summer - it's ok, Confident worked better for me though

52 Fifth Harmony - Worth It (feat. Kid Ink) -

54 Justin Bieber - Love Yourself - 30-3-5-… (3+ weeks) this would probably have been top 10 if it had its full run poor ha :')

57 Skrillex & Diplo - Where Are Ü Now (feat. Justin Bieber) - 30-24-22-17-23-30-32-X-25-33-36-X-37-X (11 non-consecutive weeks) you're probably not the biggest Skrillex fan so this has done quite well here, Justin's feature helps it a lot of course though :heehee:

60 AURORA - Half the World Away - 22-2-6-14-… (4+ weeks) nice vocals

41 Lia Marie Johnson - Moment Like You fab BJSC entry :cheer: was my first 12 ptr in the 1st semi I entered :funky:

43 Hozier - Take Me To Church took a while but I grew to this :o

44 Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband better than LAM at least, this is good but its "original" Dance With Me Tonight much better ;)

45 Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You  Carly

Justin Bieber only #3? :o

Hi ^_^.

'Where Are Ü Now' that low!? FLOP FAN ;o

Good to see 'Blank Space' and 'Talking Body' high up  'Moment Like You' too <333333333333333333333333v3333

36 Zara Larsson & MNEK - Never Forget You - 36-14-18-25-26-10-1-4-8-15-… (10+ weeks)

37 Selena Gomez - Good For You (feat. A$AP Rocky) - 2-3-4-6-10-14-20-28-26-31-32-35-X (12 weeks)

38 Troye Sivan - FOOLS - 33-4-5-8-14-23-34-38-35-X (9 weeks)

39 Adele - Hello - 17-1-3-7-14-24-… (6+ weeks)

40 5 Seconds of Summer - She's Kinda Hot - 3-3-5-7-12-14-21-27-31-34-38-X (11 weeks)

Into the top 40 we go! 5SOS kick off with She's Kinda Hot, the lead single from Sounds Good Feels Good. The song's Friday release led to its initial impact being spread over two chart weeks for me, missing out on what probably would've been their first #1 in my chart and instead peaking at #3. She's Kinda Hot had me confused on one listen, I wasn't sure how to feel, but it quickly grew. The slightly unusual structure works very much in its favour I think too. It fails to match their EOY #15 last year for She Looks So Perfect but top 40 is respectable I think!

Hello, it's me. Adele made her whopper of a comeback this year, although it was quite under the radar and no-one really noticed. I hear she's being dropped soon. In all seriousness, Hello had me on first listen. I heard it first via my phone on the way back from a trip in London to see Justin Bieber pre-record his TFI Friday performance  I was sold straight away though, especially with a chorus that huge. It hit #1 in my chart and whilst it wasn't the biggest #1 of the year by any means, it's still had enough of an impact to earn a well-deserved top 40 place here.

I think my love for Troye Sivan is well-documented in this thread already and it's far from over so I won't go on too much here, and I'll be straight to the point with FOOLS. The song wasn't an initial highlight from the WILD EP and I was a bit eh at it being the second video of the Blue Neighbourhood trilogy, but now I am so glad because it was that video that got me loving the song big time. The song is a huge contrast from WILD lyrically speaking, with WILD speaking of falling deeply in love, and FOOLS talking about how "only fools fall for you". The video is heartbreaking and TALK ME DOWN only builds on that theme with its final trilogy video. Troye still has two more songs to come, unsurprisingly.

Another slick song now, this time from Selena Gomez. I was slightly unsure of Good For You upon hearing it for the first time but I relistened and it very quickly grew. The song is smooth and seductive, which is something Selena hadn't really done before, and all it did was left me wondering WHY NOT. It entered at #2 behind Conrad's Hold Me Up and became her biggest hit in my chart, the closest she's come to a #1 single. A$AP Rocky's rap only enhances the song too as it continues to build to that final chorus. An exceptional effort from Selena and my favourite song of hers now.

A slightly random #1 at the time, Zara Larsson & MNEK smashed their way to the top spot with a slow-burning hit. I quite liked it on first listen but it only continued to grow, especially with such a wonderful video about friendship. MNEK is someone who I've found pretty dull until this, where his vocals really shine alongside Zara's, who is on top form too. If anyone's confused at the way I credit this song, it's Zara & MNEK in pretty much every country, rather than the other way round like in the UK  Not just being biased towards Zara here x (although I do like to troll sometimes and just mention Zara)

PICK OF THE SECTION

Hoziyasssss *.* I must be the only person in the world that loved that song straight away, judging by its slow burn chart run in practically every country and how it missed top ten in BJSC.

Lots of good stuff here and been enjoying the commentary a lot Joseph! Delta missing the top 100 tho (at least Wings is still to come!)

Good For You spending nearly as much weeks at #1 in my chart as it did in your top 40 :kink:

Thanks Spadz, Ball, Tim and Rich! :D

Glad you're enjoying the commentary Rich, my essays aren't going amiss :kink: Only Human is nice but it lacks a bit of the Delta spark to bring it to life I think :( It's amazing how Take Me To Church grew, cause honestly it went straight to the NO category on my BJSC rankings :drama: A huge BJSC regret now of course!

Tim - omg  12 weeks top 40 is actually quite good cause my chart is super super phresh x

I love a good essay! I really warmed up so much to Only Human after she sang it on Neighbours, I was gutted she didn't perform it in London but there we go. I guess that left room for one more classic so not such a disaster! I doubt it'll be on the album though anyway, seeing as it wasn't exactly well received down under. (UK top 100 iTunes smash tho).

Missed opportunity to put a #longhairdon'tcare pic of him in my sig at the time I think. Might have won you over more quickly :P

It is a lovely song and I imagine it'd sound great in a live environment so that's a shame! Although I doubt any of it really mattered once you met her haha, still so jealous! :kink: Yeah I can't see it going on the album, Wings seemed to be promoted as the lead single from the next album (when is this album coming, it's all gone quiet again :(). UK top 100 iTunes smash <3 I forgot that happened! What a surprisingly amazing moment

 Potentially, I was vaguely aware of what he looked like actually but yeah, proof that I'm not shallow  http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/uploads/group_images/of_18_icon.gif
