I look forward to seeing how Conrad Sewell does this year. Although I haven't heard your #1 song. Do you think he'll have a hit this year?

'Drag Me Down' is the only 1D song to enter my chart so it's clear to say it impacted on me in a big way. It doesn't have a big pop chorus in the way their other songs do but strangely I actually like that about it. It just feels so much more appealing as a kind of chant for the pre-chorus followed by a head rocking chorus. It certainly helped 1D be a lot more "cooler" to like as far as the people I know are concerned. I agree it does feel like Zayn was never even there! Each member has been given the right lines to sing and they work well as a package of four in the video.

I'm big fans of 'Story of My Life', 'Steal My Girl', 'Night Changes' and 'Perfect' too but they impacted on me too late to chart, so the uniqueness of 'Drag Me Down' in comparison to the rest of their discography definitely worked for me.

Glad to see triple Y&Y in your Top 20! *.* They absolutely nailed it when it came to singles in 2015.

Fab chart in general and I agree with Joe that it's nice to see your genuine love for music shine through in your commentaries!

Great #1 :cheer: glad it went past the veto (not as glad as you obv :heehee:) Drag Me Down is far from 1D's best for me though :nocheer:

Thanks very much Spadam :cheer:

I really enjoyed reading this. I love your broad-ranged and unpretentious passion for music and we have so many similarities running through our charts (well, my imaginary charts). This was also beautifully laid out, so if I didn't like one of the songs I can just marvel at your layout skills... In terms of your top 2, I really enjoyed that Conrad song and wish it had had some attention, commercially, here. Drag Me Down is one of 1D's weaker moments for me, but I've started to enjoy it quite a bit more very recently.

Thanks so much for the kind words Joe, it really means a lot and it made me smile reading this!

Well your #1 album and artist make up for the singles chart at least -_- :kink:

JOKE i like the #1 and the #2 but haven't really connected with them a whole lot like you have. Still this has been a very good thread to follow and i'm looking forward to any artists/songs/albums that we can both share in throughout 2016 too! http://www.skype-emoticons.com/images/emoticon-00157-sun.gif

!!! you shady hoe -_-

Thank you Ball  Looking forward to another year of #HuasofJseoph music moments *.*

Not shocked by that Number one James :kink:

 ty for commenting Harry x

Very good countdown.

My favourites in your top 20 being Do It Again, Doing It & Sorry.

Thanks very much Lewis :D

I can't call it actually :o he seems to have all the right backing, including working with Avicii recently, so it's certainly very possible for him to do well. It's just a question of radio :(

Thank you Liam for the kind words

Drag Me Down came at the perfect time I think, I was craving new 1D music but didn't expect it so soon, and it hit me really hard and it's not worn off  I think the lack of a big chorus like some of their other hits works in its favour, the "all my life" bit kinda works as one I guess but it's a different structure. I'm delighted that it's been a big hit for them too!

A non-mainstream #1 :D

I mean, Drag Me Down is pretty great as far as One Direction song go so I wouldn't have complained at seeing that top your chart Joseph but it feels more right to see Conrad up there, seeing how much you've loved him over the year. Good pop song as well.

Thanks Iz  I can be a commerical hoe at times (most of the time in fact) but you can't say I don't have my non-mainstream moments :heehee: Hold Me Up dominated for so long that there really was no question in my mind that it had to be my #1, as much as I adore Drag Me Down!

Hello Joseph :hi: There is not a whole lot of overlap between our EOYs it seems, but both of the top 2 are decent songs, and Justin Bieber's own songs have really impressed me this year and weren't far off my own chart, definitely a more mature and refined sound. Fantastic to see Firestone and triple Years & Years in your top 20 too, all fantastic singles

I always find it such an effort to put together just a top 100 and do a commentary for each one, so it's amazing that you can do that for 250 songs with artists and albums too! Really showcases a passion and even if I don't personally like all of the music itself, it's really great to read through!

Hey Tom, thanks for the comments! I didn't expect a huge overlap but I'm glad there's still stuff you can enjoy here, my taste isn't quite as narrow as I'm sure some may think haha. Justin has really excelled himself this year and I'm delighted to see most people enjoying the new material, the wide appeal is quite amazing to see as someone who's been a fan of his for 5 years now!

I'm glad you've enjoyed reading this, it means a lot to read comments like that, so thanks very much! I invest a lot of time into preparing this countdown so I'm delighted it's all paid off, and call me crazy but I already want to do it again for next year!

Oh I just realized, massive cheers for Trouble not holding on to #1! :cheer: :heehee: It's really just that song, otherwise I haven't tired of Iggy by any means so I do hope she stands a chance with her future releases. The odds seem very much against her now. :(

Hold Me Up IS very John Newman-esque now that you mention it :o Even the lyrics, "need you now, need you right now" vs. "need to norgh nargh, norgh nargh" :kink:. It's a shame you missed out on hearing it get proper airplay and stuff, but it's wonderful to have a song you more or less discovered on your own that define your year so much more than anything that had loads and loads of exposure, it feels more personal that way although still frustrating to think of all the people that would like it but haven't heard it!

Anyway, job well done on this, enjoyed reading it and sharing some faves as always and seeing a little bit of my own impact via Sammi Sanchez and The Rocket Summer :D
