10) Hailee Steinfeld - Love Myself

It's a pop song about wanking. What's not to like?

9) Foxes - Body Talk

I wish this had done better, it's got such a distinct sound to it. So 80s in a way that I really appreciate, and the last chorus is so euphoric.

8) Marina and The Diamonds - I'm a Ruin

The song that sound have made Marina a huge star. And didn't.

7) Justin Bieber - Sorry

Justin Bieber's very best.

6) Little Mix - Love Me Like You

It may not be about masturbation, but this song, as well as being a jam is actually rather filthy when you listen to the lyrics properly. Those innuendos, girls... 'He might got the biggest c....'

Really loving "All My Friends" right now, such a jam and I've not got the Tinashe hype previously. Glad to see Sia so high, it seems to get a bit of hate/indifference (compared to say "Chandelier" which I don't like as much) but I really love it and it's one of my favourites of the year too.

Why hasn't "Love Myself" taken off :( And very much in agreement that "Sorry" is Justin's best (though maybe not by as much of a stretch as it is for some :P), another one of my 2015 faves.

Hi Joeeeee

A very good start to the top 10. Body Talk is massively euphoric like you say, so dreamy too, really what she should have been making all along, it's a lot more unique than her past stuff which I like. Shame she doesn't seem to be doing great at the moment.

I 100% agree with you that Sorry is JBs best, I've liked songs by him before but this is just perfectly crafted, so catchy and very smoothly produced - glad it's being such a big hit. Wonder how far ahead or behind it'll fall compared to WDYM?

Lovely stuff

Joe!

5) Selena Gomez - Good For You

4) Carly Rae Jepsen - Your Type

3) Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You

2) Charli XCX Ft Rita Ora - Doing It

1) Years & Years - Shine

Here concludes my anticlimactic, fragmented end of year. These were my most played and most fondly remembered songs of 2015. Shine is such an amazingly euphoric and emotional song to me. One which fills me with sadness and happiness upon listening - It's a shame it sounded so awful on Graham Norton last night.

Great #1, by a mile their best track to was shame to see it miss #1 when the vastly inferior King did so.

Good For You was pretty great too, love the song and the vid. Sorry making the top 10 is pretty impressive!

that top five <33 great to see another member who appreciates the talents of grimes too

Hi Joe

Always thought Shine would be top here, Olly's voice is my favourite thing about the band hands down, just so glossy and smooth. I like the more delicate sound to this and Eyes Shut as well, works better than the louder sound on King imo.

Lovely to see Doing It make an appearance too, seems to have been forgotten over the year but still one of the catchies and funnest pop tracks of the year for me. The video itself is just so enjoyable, especially seeing Charli trying to do things with her body she can't quite pull off

Glad to see the better Carly track come out on top as well, everyone seems to be in love with Your Type but it's so clunky and also really cringey imo. IRLY is just pure pop goodness and the video makes it even more fun, dancing in the street with Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber

Was thinking 'Shine' could be your #1 when I saw this thread and it's great to see that's the case (especially over 'Doing It', which I've never liked, oops)! Huge fave of mine too, though I'm a bit worried for my commentary for it (if I ever get around to writing it) as I don't quite know why I love it so much . It's so effective structurally and melodically but the whole bittersweet feel of the song/its lyrics that you referred to is probably a big part of why I keep returning to it.

Also love your takes on 'Love Myself' and 'Love Me Like You'! Pure filth dressed up in catchy, family-friendly pop packages. <3

Thanks for the comments guys. This was the shittest EOY of them all so I really appreciate the words spared. I've been away a lot and didn't have time to really work it all out again, which left out loads of the less-obvious, more interesting songs that fell in the middle of the chart, the top 20 are all rather obvious, straightforward chart hits. Also, the lack of imagination with the commentary, I'll do better next year!

There's possibly a copy of the entire top 50 on my work computer so I'll quickly paste it in on Monday of its there

JOE this thread, sorry it's completely passed me by !!

The #1 album I OF COURSE approve of. You know how much I love it and i'm glad we're in charge of the Carly fanclub together :D

Talking Body and the Little Mix singles <3 (expected them to be a bit higher!). Fantastic showing for Carly and of course your undeniable #1 which I expected and am happy to see. I'm A Ruin

Fabulous stuff, we have so much that overlaps in our tastes. Here's hoping 2016 brings us more underrated, floppy pop gold <3

Hi Joe!

Firstly, 'Run Away With Me' not even being in your Top 20... I strongly disapprove :snif: ...but 'Emotion' being your #1 album softens the blow a bit. ^_^

Your #2 is a gigantic flop, apparently!

Miguel in your albums Top 5, deserved.

Overall, great stuff! *.*
