Hello everybody and Welcome to Rob's top 100 Countdown of 2015
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I'll be covering this countdown all the way up till the end of December ie doing it in two/three chunks at a time with the recap after #91, #81 etc :D

#100 ~

Chart Run // (22.10.08.05.04.03.03) 7 Weeks

#99 ~

Chart Run // (32.02.11.15.23.33.37) 7 Weeks

Kicking off the top 100 is Canadian born singer 'Shawn Mendes' with the 3rd single taken from his debut studio album Handwritten, 'Stitches', a song that took some time to grow on me and eventually made my chart climbing to a current peak of #3, it has been a big hit over in the states giving Shawn his first top 5 hit there as well as peaking top 5 in 12 other countries including his own country Canada!

In at #99 is Andy Grammar's Honey 'I'm Good' a surefire one hit wonder in the U.S.. It's a fun country pop vibed song about staying faithful in a relationship... the song managed to reach the hefty heights of #2 on my chart but sadly had a fairly swift run overall!

Hi Rob

Oo yay at Stitches making it in, so happy it's finally made the official top 40 now, feels like ages that I've been hoping for it to break out. A real pop package, catchy chorus and verses, unique verses and an interesting video too, the latter I love re-watching whenever it comes on the TV or something

#98 ~

Chart Run // (37.25.09.10.10.21.33.36) 8 Weeks

#97 ~

(25.08.07.11.11.12.20.31) 8 Weeks

#96 ~

Chart Run // (38.11.09.08.07.13.24.36) 8 Weeks

At #98 on the countdown we have Fergie who we all know from the mega superstar group Black Eyed Peas, it's been a loooooong time we got any solo material from her but it eventually came and believe it or not this song wasn't that impressive but it also wasn't too bad either imo. It entered my chart back in late last year but primarily down to becoming a surprise top 3 in the UK chart it helped the song re-enter my chart and snatch a #9 peak. Having said that it's still only just 'ok' for me.. I was hoping and am holding out for her to return with something excellent. Fingers crossed for it to happen next year or the year after!

After revealing my 110-101 songs that missed the top 100 which include Conrad Sewell.. this is the first of two apppearances by him in the top 100. It's pretty obvious what the other is.. aye ;) 'Hold Me Up' is a glorious pop track that deserved a better push/chance to do something officially but sadly it wasn#t meant to be and so far has yet to breakthrough with his solo material. The song was also represented by Buzzjack member JosephStyles in Buzzjack's very own Eurovision contest/s named Buzzjack Song Contest (in short BJSC) and finished respectively in the top 20 there.

Ellie Goulding's 'On My Next' is next at #96, the first proper single from Ellie in 3 years off her 5th album Delirium. Supposed to be Ellie's very own comeback song to the Ed Sheeran dating stuff, won't go into all of that :heehee: it managed to go top 10 both in my chart and the UK Official Chart but to be completely honest with you I got bored of it fairly quick thanks to overplay etc lol :(

Conrad  gah, he needs to break through, so incredibly talented. Loving the appearance of Stitches too!!

#94 ~

In at #95 we have Sia's most recent single which serves as the first track to be released from her forthcoming 7th studio album, 'Alive'. Voice cracks, squealing and rawness all mixed in to one. The song was supposed to be written for Adele but she turned it down and therefore Sia was the ultimate opportunist and took the song under her wing. This track like OMM above tired on me fairly quickly added to the fact I was barely hearing it anyway but her performance on the X Factor was fab imo!

and just as I was talking about Adele in regards to 'Alive' she shows up bang next door at #94 with 'Hello' http://bobby.cool/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/hello-lionel.gif surprisingly extremely low a finish and it's all down to the time of release. I mean had it spent more weeks at #1 or something on my chart then it would be much higher obvs and because it's GODELE whose album SLAYS 2 Million Frickin copies *.* QUEEN!!

but yeah this is just an awe-inspiring hauntful ballad, perfect for an October release date.. 'Hello' should be way higher next year ie like 'Rollin In The Deep' back in 2010/2011 for example.

Fantastic countdown so far Rob!

Stitches is one of my favourites this year of course, Shawn's vocals are amazing ad the song is fantastic

Was expecting Hello quite a lot higher here tbh :o Perfect comeback and what an amazing song *.*

L.A. Love is also really underrated and a really fun track

Honey I'm Good, Alive and On My Mind are all really good

Thanks Sam :) glad you like them all. Yeah I'm even shocked myself that Adele has come that low. She'll be much higher next year I'm certain of that!

how is Adele not higher with that chart run? :o is the chart based on points?

No it's not. I go by songs chart runs, peak positions etc and put them in order from biggest to smallest with a song that spends more than a week getting combined a fair amount higher than where it would if it was a 1 week #1. I think the fact Adele didn't get 2 weeks before the cut off point harmed her as she would no doubt be about 30-35 places higher otherwise.

I would explain how I used to do my data for previous charts but it probably would sound confusing and drawn out haha.

Big fan of L.A.LOVE of what's come so far, I want more songs of that vein from her!

On My Mind is pretty good too, was unsure if she could pull out a strong lead single.

#91 ~

(07.08.09.14.20.23.24.28.36.) 9 Weeks

We've got two appearances from Olly Murs closely apart from each other, firstly 'Seasons' was the 3rd single to be release off Murs 4th album 'Never Been Better' and didn't really do well in the Official chart making it to only #34 but performed better here peaking at 8 and spending 9 weeks inside the top 40. KDA, a house producer from London appears at #92 featuring London based rapper Tinie Tempah who has made appearances in my top 40 before with a few tracks and Katy B who if you remember was responsible for my 3rd best track of last year with the stunning 'Crying For No Reason', on the catchy 'Rumble'!

Olly Murs's latest single 'Kiss Me' rounds off this section coming in at #91!

#89 ~

(09.05.05.10.13.20.19.25.36) 9 Weeks

Into the Top 90 and Briggy are boasting that they are 'Pretty Girls' at #90 whilst the first of 2 Kygo songs makes it's mark at #89.. 'Stole the Show. There is still an appearance from Iggy also on the way!

my favourites so far are Ellie Goulding, Adele, KDA and Kygo

I wish Fergie could've come back with a much better song, it was fun for a few weeks but didn't do too much for me overall. Similar story with the Sia comeback.

No.88 comes from YouTube star Lia Marie Johnson with 'Moment Like You' a track that was also entered by Bellamia and made waves in my chart all the way in January. It's a nice little pop song.

The Corrs are next at #87 with the first single to be released by the quartet in a decade, 'Bring On The Night' and Alesso believes we could be 'Heroes' at #86, the song also has guest vocals from Swedish singer Tove Lo who will be making a showing later on ;)

At #85 we have the last installment of Miss Ziggy-Iggs, Iggy Azalea with her sassy sidekick Jennifer Hudson on 'Trouble', the song recieved a huge boost after J-Hud appeared on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke. Adam Levine featuring on songs is no stranger to my countdown, 'Stereo Heart' made #34 in my EOY Countdown from 2011 but this time he lends his vocals to 'Locked Away which is produced by R.City a music duo from Saint Thomas U.S. Adam features in the main chorus hook but would you believe it that this is the first song he's collaborated on not to have anything to do with songwriting/cowriting :o

Muse made an almighty comeback this year notching up their fifth number 1 album in the UK, personally speaking as I own the album there are lots of great tracks on there but nothing stands out like this one does imho even though 'Psycho' is still to come. Muse also played at Download Festival for the first in their career back in June. Unfortunately I wasn't there to watch as I went on the Sunday whilst they played the day previous but from watching TV coverage of it weeks later it looked phenomenal *.*

#81 ~

(35.20.10.17.25.27.23.28.35.X.R36) 10 Weeks

Time now for the second #1 on my chart to show up after Adele only just got there last week to secure the first #1 song on my chart to appear on the countdown. Petite Meller who originally comes from France but now lives in East London, burst on the scene with this catchy saxophone orientated tune 'Baby Love', admittedly on first listen I didn't even manage to get all the way through without being turned off because I wasn't keen on it but by the time it started getting hammered by Radio 1 around June, it clicked with me and that chorus is reeled me in, such a joyful eargasm :music:

Finally from this section at #81 is the last Muse single and their lead single off Revolt, 'Psycho'.
