I'm really hyping for this! it makes me want to watch the old animated classic again!
The trailer for this looks really good and and I like the tone of it - a little creepy actually!

Needed more of the Queen and her corgi's, she was the clear highlight :P

I thought this was pleasant enough and I wouldn't class it as a disappointment because my hype wasn't that high to begin with but I didn't find it very exciting. The giants weren't

exactly hard to defeat at the end

but the Queen brought humour.

Can't say The BFG was ever a highlight of Roald Dahl's books for me though so it was never going to be as good as the wonderful Matilda or Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.

I loved reading the BFG when it came out 30 years ago and I thought the film was fantastic. Mark Rylance is brilliant as the BFG and the girl playing Sophie is excellent too. I was a little annoyed that Bloodbottler had his bits replaced by Fleshlumpeater, but it worked well.

The section at the palace was always my favourite part of the book and it was done brilliantly. Reminded me a little of Paddington.

I've never been much of a fan of the book itself, always much preferred the likes of The Twits and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I thought all the trailers looked so dull so I went into this expecting it to be so rubbish. However, I ended up massively enjoying it, it had a nice little world set up so the thing's like BFG's speech patterns, dream-catching, and all the giant things like food and drink were all nice little additions. The BFG was so likeable/cute too, I was starting to well up a bit when he was being chucked about as well :( wish there was more The Queen too, that whole section was hilarious, especially the breakfast scene
I loved this. Such a feel good film and I thought it would be crap, walking in to the cinema and seeing me and my friend were among a load of 6 year olds  But I really enjoyed it, maybe a tad slow to get going, but in the end I really got into it.
I saw this earlier and ABSOLUTELY loved it, made me cry a couple of times, was really sweet! the dream scenes were absolutely beautiful
