what link do you use to see those figures so early? none of the links I use (the ones on page1) are so up to date

By doing this:

To see the daily top 50 update on desktop, log in to Spotify, click 'Browse', then click 'Charts', then click 'United Kingdom Top 50' or 'Top 50 By Country' to see charts for other countries

The desktop app updates much earlier than the website for some reason.

EDIT: it works

This is completely bizarre to me that it's beaten 'Hello's record, it doesn't feel anywhere near as big as that was and I've not been hearing people talk about this in the way they were with 'Hello'.

even 7 Years, love it or hate it, seemed to be more popular

or sure the Bieber songs all seemed more popular

And on a Tuesday too *.*

It's strange indeed, this is a song that I hear nobody talking about (even my housemate hasn't cottoned on yet, and she's been hammering Hotline Bling for months), yet it's flying ahead on both sales and especially streams and is starting to look like a Get Lucky/Blurred Lines type behemoth. I would say this is perhaps signalling Drake's 'imperial phase' but that doesn't explain why Pop Style and Summer Sixteen have struggled so presumably people are just absolutely loving (apparently in secret) this particular song.

I really enjoy One Dance, it's one of Drakes better commercail singles, and I think i'm growing to like it more than Hotline Bling. But I'm still baffled by the success of this. Is it a bandwagon thing? Because it still doesn't sound like a hit to me, as much as I like it.

I'd be willing to bet it will be popping up in our 'songs that were huge at the time but are now forgotten' threads in five years time.

I think Hotline Bling and many of his other singles are likely to be more remembered, however much this sells, unless of course he comes up with another iconic video for this.

I think it's safe to say, even at this early stage, that 'One Dance' will be one of the biggest selling singles of the year. I'd be surprised if it missed the Year End Top 10.

It doesn't feel huge yet though. Maybe because it's rise has been so sudden or that it's not all over radio and TV yet. All of Drake's huge chart hits have been slow growers, so I'm sure in a few months time this'll be another widely known, much loved Drake song.

Ha Drakes 'Imperial Phase'is a quality way of describing it. Not sure how hes doing so well but I guess its not being talked about yet because its only gaining airplay at the moment - in 2 months everyone will know it.

Drake always gets very high streaming because of his fanbase being mostly the streaming generation, so in a way Adele getting 760k streams in one day is more impressive than Drake doing the same (makes sense as 'Hello' had way more cultural impact). Not to write off Drake's success though, it's doing amazingly.

It wouldn't surprise me if some of his album tracks made the top 40 / all of them make top 100 when it gets released due to streaming.
