Agree with the low placing for Spongebob, I never really saw the TV show (it was on a Sky channel right? Which we didn't have) and I thought the 3D looked cool from the trailer but I didn't find it funny at all and the 3D didn't really work for me in the movie.

Can't agree with the placing for Wild which was in my top 10, loved it and really love Reese (not that she could save Hot Pursuit :P). I'd also recommend "The Good Lie", a second Reese movie that made my top 10 of last year and possibly what I consider the most underrated movie of last year (in terms of box office).

Yeah, the humour just didn't land for me too much in the Spongebob movie but I bet it was great for all the fans of the TV show, I quite enjoyed seeing the characters in 3D though!

I'll have to catch it if appears on Sky Movies sometime soon, she's usually pretty good from what I've seen and she did do a great job in Wild which kept the film afloat for me.

Thanks Jahq!

Ok no no no no no no :( Wild is easily in my top 10 of the year, probably even higher :( Absolutely loved the movie and found it such a beautiful and fantastic movie with powerhouse performances from all, especially Reese Witherspoon

Anyway on the other movies, Playing It Cool was ok but nothing great and Spongebob was so crap it was fun and I enjoyed it!

I just really don't get the appeal of Wild as a film itself although I do agree Reese did an excellent job in it.

I agree with you on PIC there, just sort of watched it, kind of liked it and then never thought about it again oops.

Thanks UV!

76 Burnt -

This started off really well, there so many tense moments in the cinema where you felt like you were in the iamspamspamamitoo with Bradley Cooper screaming at another chef and it was interesting to see all the iamspamspamamirivalries from restuarant to restaurant within the business. I thought Bradley Cooper did an excellent job and was overlooked when it came to awards season (probably because the film itself got such terrible reviews). The problem I had with this movie is that I was just so into the storyline and then I was excited to see what would happened when the real Michelin raters arrived and then the film just ended? It felt like it'd finally reached the climax of all the shouting, screaming and late nights trying new recipes for us to just not see the outcome which was really disappointing, the film was fairly short too so I don't see why they couldn't just add a proper ending?

77 Everest -

Some of the moments in this were so intense and had me on the edge of my seat but it really just did feel a bit long in other places. The parts where we didn't know if they'd get down or not or how bad their injuries would be were so thrilling but other parts where they were all wearing gear it was difficult to even distinguish what character we were following. It was really moving as well to see the true stories of how people lost organs and or got left behind in such a scary place.

78 The Wedding Ringer -

Like most Kevin Hart movies, I come out of it enjoying it because he's so likeable and charismatic and his films always seem to put you in a good mood but as an actual comedy film, they're never really THAT funny and only make me chuckle a couple of times. I think some of the best parts were setting the nanny on fire and how the web of lies kept coming back to bite them. I enjoyed it more because of Kevin Hart rather than it being a good standalone film.

79 Ronaldo -

Always hated Cristiano Ronaldo as a sporting personality because he always just seems so cocky and it seems a bit odd to do a documentary film on him at this stage in life too but I thought it was actually really engaging. I've gone off football in recent years so those bits sort of lost me but his home life is really interesting and he seems so much more grounded and humane at home. His boy was really cute and they seemed to have a great relationship which was nice to see and there was a great scene involving a very big fan which made me laugh a lot. This is just so low because in parts he still seemed like an idiot and that turned me off it as a whole.

80 Southpaw -

I've always hated boxing as a sport so therefore never liked movies focused on them either so I liked this because it was an alright movie but the subject matter didn't keep me engaged enough in the film and I sort of switched off in all the fight scenes because it just doesn't appeal to me. The side plot with his little girl were the parts I got the most enjoyment from and thought they were quite strong so a shame we didn't focus on that more. I thought all the cast did good jobs, especially Jake who puts in yet another emotional performance. I can see why a lot of people really liked this but boxing movies just aren't for me and Creed did it way better six months later.

Loved Southpaw and liked Everest!

May check out the other 3: Burnt I'll watch if it's on Sky Movies but probably won't catch Ronaldo (due to no interest in football) and The Wedding Ringer (Hate Kevin Hart and the rest of the cast is pretty crap also)!

Burnt is actually a really good film but just so infuriating when it just ends, like what happens next? I enjoyed Ronaldo as a casual football fan, it shows a surprising amount of his home-life which is really interesting, reminded me a lot of those Peter Andre reality shows and I love Kevin Hart so enjoy anything he's in just because of him, the jokes aren't always great but his whole character is just so engaging and enjoyable imo

71. Ricki and the Flash -

This was just a really nice movie that I enjoyed but was just not interesting enough to be much higher. Meryl Streep did another excellent job and I really loved her character despite her being a bit of a terrible mum, thought her real daughter did a good job in this too and was quite funny. It was lovely to hear Meryl unleash her wonderful singing voice again but I must admit to getting a little bit bored when the songs just kept going on. It was nice to Sebastian Stan pop up too, he is really rather gorgeous, isn't he Regina? and the other son did a good job too. This put me in a good mood but I feel like it's one of Meryl's weaker films of late.

72. Bridge of Spies -

The second half of this movie was really extraordinary and did a really good job of being so suspenseful with only dialogue but the first half was just a bit too slow starting to maintain all of my attention. I was almost falling off my chair in anticipation during the swap scene, you thought surely he couldn't have negotiated such a deal and you were waiting for someone to pull out. Some of the scenes where Hanks is manipulating the deal are so clever, my jaw was open. All actors involved did an excellent job too and Hanks was really underrated in this, he deserves just as much attention as Rylance imo.

73. Into the Woods -

This is probably the best example ever created of a film where the first act is so strong and everything just falls apart in the second. This would have probably been top 20 if it ended at Cinderella's wedding because I loved all the characters, Little Red Riding Hood had the perfect amount of cheek, James Corden and Emily Blunt had great chemistry, Anna Kendrick actually brought some character to Cinderella, Chris Pine was hilarious (especially in his sing-off on the waterfall ) and Meryl Streep was as excellent as ever. Johnny Depp's song was a bit weird but I can get past that and Daniel Huttlestone was kind of annoying but then he got really annoying in the second half, released an annoying giant and everything just fell to bits really and the second half really dragged. The only good moment in the second half was Emily Blunt lusting over the Prince and the line about having a baker for bread and a prince for 'whatever'

74. Cinderella -

This was one of the prettiest films of the year, the whole set design was gorgeous but the shame is that it was pretty much just a complete remake of the animation with absolutely no changes. I thought Lily James was a bit boring in her role too and was outshined in all of her scenes whether it be by Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter or her dress :heehee: HBC was my favourite part because she had some great one liners and created a very sweet character, shame she couldn't have been inserted into the story more, the visual effects in her scene were amazing too, loved all the objects being turned into parts of the carriage. I liked the film as a whole but I'd probably just rather rewatch the original because it's the same thing but done first.

75. Pan -

There were a few things bad about this movie but I do think the reviews were a bit hyperbolic and there was still a lot of enjoyment to be had. Hugh Jackman was kind of bad but I thought the boy playing Peter Pan was very likeable and one of the stronger actors in the films so excited to see what he has to offer. I liked the fact that it was a prequel and set us up for the story that we grew up on, it was nice to find out a bit more of the tale of Peter Pan even if it was not how I'd imagined it. There were some lulls but there were so many visual treats like flying boats in floating bubble worlds that looked really good and a beautiful world was created which I liked.

Some of my favourites falling way too soon :(! Loved Everest, the second half was excellent and really tense, Keira Knightley and Emily Watson put in great emotional performances, considered them for the movie awards. Probably helped seeing it on the O2 Superscreen too, a great one visually. Bridge of Spies was brilliant all the way through, I went in worried about the running time but I was gripped from start to end and I think it was helped by being a tale of two halves so to speak (American first half, German second half). Agree that Tom Hanks was great and deserved more recognition, hope Mark Rylance gets the Oscar as he's probably my favourite of that category. Loved Into The Woods as well (almost put "Your Fault" for Best Song, my song highlight from the movie :kink:), thought the music and characters/cast were great but I do agree that it felt like it should've ended earlier. Cinderella had a lot of charm though I don't know what I'll think of her going around stabbing/shooting/punching people etc. next month in Pride + Prejudice + Zombies :kink:

On the other hand I think some deserve the placing. Burnt was just there for me really, the food was nice to look at (such a tease) but I wasn't really taken in by the story. Pan I thought started off well and I liked the kid but it failed to sustain my interest. Don't know what to think of Kevin Hart (I wouldn't say I dislike him but he certainly wouldn't draw me to see a movie  And a lot of them don't look great), The Wedding Ring was OK but nowhere near as good as the holy comedy duo of Trainwreck and Spy, pretty sure the best joke came in the first scene so disappointing when nothing else lived up to that (though I do remember a dinner table scene providing another LOL).

So many opinions yay :D

Everest definitely had a thrilling second half but it seemed a bit long in places and definitely had me a bit lost at others.

Bridge of Spies had me worried about the length too and it didn't feel as long it actually was but just too much of a slow start for me. My favourite was Sylvester Stallone of the ones I've seen and it'd be nice to see him win but I love Mark Ruffalo too in most things.

So many good songs in Into the Woods, Your Fault was lyrical genius and so much fun, I loved the title track too though, a great opening moment.

Spy is my number one comedy of the year but Trainwreck wasn't anywhere near that high for me, you'll see but I don't even think it was top 5, fell apart in the emotional scenes imo.

I really loved the story of Burnt but was just so infuriated that it ended so abruptly, I was excited to see the outcome if he would get any Michelin stars.

The dinner table scene in Wedding Ringer was my favourite so glad you mentioned it, was funny to see him try and keep up his pretence

Thanks Jahq!

66. Terminator Genisys

I had never actually seen a Terminator movie up until this point so I guess I didn't hate it for ruining a beloved franchise like everyone else did. I actually quite enjoyed it and it was a fun two hour action romp to get stuck into. I actually really like Jai Courtney and thought he was really good in this, probably my favourite character but Arnie was a lot of fun too. There were definitely a few plot holes and silly moments but it was a lot of fun and I loved the shape-shifting liquid terminator too.

67. The Last Witch Hunter

Vin Diesel is just really likeable and charismatic so it was nice to see him properly lead another movie. The witches were really well done imo and the CGI was solid, I liked the world that was created and the action was all good to watch too. Not sure why this was actually so hated because it was quite engaging to watch, just too silly to be much higher.

68. Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse

This actually had a lot of laugh out loud moments, I personally prefer raunchy humour which is one reason I loved Dirty Grandpa so the comedic aspect of this was something I really enjoyed but the thing is I'm just such a scaredy cat even the very minor horror aspects just made me too scared to properly enjoy it  My favourite moment was when he was going to fall out of the window so had to hold onto a zombie peen for a bit, it was just so unexpected and really funny. I developed a bit of a crush on Tye Sheridan as the film went on too :heehee: The bit where the zombie was bleeding and the guy was performing a sexual act on her area and just said 'get a tampon' was really funny too  I liked a lot of the bits were comedy and horror were mixed like the zombie deer and stuff but the pure horror zombie moments just had me a bit uncomfortable so I can't put this too high.

69. Run All Night

This pretty just felt like Taken 4 but I did enjoy it slightly more so that's why it's ever so slightly here. Laim Neeson was a great action lead again, it is starting to get a little old now but it's always fun to see him running around with guns in his gravelly voice chasing after his children  It had a few good moments where it was actually a little bit tense but it had really stupid moments too like Liam Neeson of course saving the day in the end even though he should have been dead ages ago but whatever, it was all fun but it did feel a little long too. The ending in the train area with Ed Harris was really well done and tense too.

70. Taken 3

So this was an actual part of the Taken franchise, more Liam Neeson being Liam Neeson which was good again. It was really nice to see Famke Janssen actually in something too, feel like we don't see much of her anymore. The shaky cam was a bit annoying in places but the action was still enjoyable but at the end of the day we've seen this movie a couple times before in a different form and none of it feels all that exciting anymore. I loved the scene in the shop though with all the bottles flying everywhere and props to the villain for fighting in tightie whities as well, almost did it as well as Edward Norton in Birdman

Only seen Taken 3 from the last section and it was ok, will probably be about 70 for me also when I reach 100!

Yeah, Taken 3 was alright but nothing special. Glad she share the same opinion on that one. I feel like you'd like Scouts Guide!

61. American Sniper

I liked this movie because I love how it showed how Chris Kyle slowly started to mentally deteriorate as time went on. Scenes like his first killing of the mother and child were really suspenseful. The shot where he had to kill Mustafa from so far out was equally tense, you thought the shot would be impossible and then the moments after it when you realise he's given away everybody's position and now everybody is in sever danger. Bradley Cooper did a really good job with an interesting character arc to portray and definitely deserved his Oscar nomination although perhaps not over David Oyelowo (haven't seen The Imitation Game either).

http://i.imgur.com/7mmcewF.jpg

62. Paper Towns

I didn't actually have that much hype going into this but I ended up rather enjoying it. The reason it's so low is just because it's nothing special really. Nat Wolff was a very likeable lead so I liked following his journey for the whole movie, Cara did a good job in her parts too, excited to see what she's like in Suicide Squad, I really liked the character of Ben too and thought he was really funny. I liked following the clues and I'd never have come up with some of the ways they linked so that aspect was fun. Happy endings are always nice too so all in all this was just an enjoyable movie but I don't really feel the need to go back to it anytime soon.

63. Selma

I can't really explain why this isn't higher because it is such a well made movie but I just don't think I enjoyed it as much as those to come. David Oyelowo really deserved an Oscar nomination and can't believe they left him out, he had all the mannerisms and speech patterns of MLK down to a tee. Oprah Winfrey gave a fantastic silent performance in this too, you could just feel all of her emotion with hardly any dialogue. It felt like such a special film, I couldn't believe my eyes when the building with the school girls blew up near the start and all the march scenes were so tense when you could see the police on the horizon, it's so sad to think people like Tim Roth's character had such power to enforce their wrong beliefs.

http://i.imgur.com/22fnQmu.jpg

64. Fathers and Daughters

Probably one of the bigger flops this year, this was in cinemas for like one week or something before they pulled it but I really quite enjoyed it. I always like Amanda Seyfried and thought she did a good job here, her character was quite funny in the way she was just sleeping with anything that moved  The twist was really tragic

and I loved the way they set up with the two stories running alongside each other but never sharing screentime and then it makes sense in the end

so it definitely ended really well. My favourite scenes were with Amanda Seyfried and Quvenzhane Wallis, thought they were really sad and I loved hhow she was able to make the girl feel comfortable and open up, was really sweet and shame we didn't see more of it.

http://i.imgur.com/fLap23x.jpg

65. Tomorrowland: A World Beyond

This movie was just utterly bonkers and I was well into it but the ending was kind of bad, especially the villain and there was definitely some weird adult/child romance bits and it sort of left a sour taste in my mouth. I thought it was hilarious when the little girl started driving the car and stuff, definitely one of my favourite characters of the year. I thought Britt Robertson was a good lead too and she had some funny moments which I liked. The escape scene from Frank's house was excellent too with all the cool gadgets he had in preparation but then Hugh Laurie was a terrible villain and the ending was a bit boring really so I didn't really enjoy it.

Spy is my number one comedy of the year but Trainwreck wasn't anywhere near that high for me, you'll see but I don't even think it was top 5, fell apart in the emotional scenes imo.

I'd agree that some of the emotional scenes let Trainwreck down a bit but the highs were really high and it had a great cast, Tilda was fantastic, Brie was great and I find Amy Schumer so likable (can't wait for what she's doing with Jennifer Lawrence, expectations are high with two of my faves!), like I prefer her to Melissa McCarthy.

Not seen any of 66-70 but then I've seen all of this new section. American Sniper, I think I found it dull but I also don't really like what the film stands for/portrays or whatever and from the movies I've seen him in, I can't say I'd call myself a fan of Bradley Cooper! Paper Towns, I liked the cast but like with The Fault In Our Stars a year previously, I found some of the acting/dialogue a bit cringe and my main problems were in relation to the book (I didn't think the movie portrayed time well / felt too rushed and also the ending was changed quite a bit, I really disliked how Angela was with them in the car like that's not supposed to happen!!!)

Selma, obviously what it stands for is great but it didn't grip me at all, I was rather bored to tell the truth. Fathers and Daughters wasn't essential but was an alright way to pass the time, don't consider myself a fan of Russell Crowe but I really like Amanda and I'd say her scenes with the girl were my favourites too (still can't believe the cinema where I went to see this had it on in one of the biggest screens! Aside from seeing the trailer a couple of times before release, I saw no promo and had heard nothing else about it). Tomorrowland was a lot of fun and I recall finding some parts amusing, I love Britt but what I seem to remember thinking about the ending is that it felt like the were setting up for a sequel? When really, I don't think it was enough of a success and I don't think anyone would be here for that..

Hi Jahq

Tilda was fantastic and probably my favourite character actually although Amy was hilarious in places too. For me, I just laughed harder in films like The Night Before and Daddy's Home so they'll be higher here.

Bradley Cooper is one of my favourite actors around at the moment, don't think he's done one bad performance from what I've seen and he always stands out even in minor roles like Joy.

I think I might read the book some time if I get the chance, I remember you saying it was disappointing because there were big changes but I liked it anyway because I don't know any different I suppose :P

I can see where you're coming from with being bored with Selma, I wasn't ever bored but it's certainly not the most thrilling film ever but there were so many tense scenes like the marches that kept me enthralled.

Fathers and Daughters was in a massive screen when I saw it too and had about 20 people on a Saturday, it really did disappear from cinemas rather swiftly

Definitely don't think we'll be getting a sequel, has to be one of the biggest box office losses of last year, it's a shame because it was a lot of fun in parts but it just isn't that great overall really.

Thanks Jahq <3

The next section is only going to consist of four films because I'm already finding it difficult to pick what to get rid of next and I haven't prepared a fifth commentary yet because I've been playing too much Lego Avengers

57. Sicario

This was a very well made movie and there is absolutely no way I can deny that but the reason it is so low is once again, because I'm such a wimp. There so much tension in so many scenes so props to Villeneuve there, the dinner table scene in particular was so scary to watch and the fact

that he even killed the children

was just ':o' The acting in this film was spectacular, Benicio Del Toro for just making me so tense, the scene at the end with the Emily Blunt was scary too because you didn't know what he was going to do, Blunt did a really good job too and it was nice to see her in another serious role. Just the reason I can't put it higher is because in scenes like the dead bodies behind the wall were just 'ow, I'm going to have nightmares for weeks :('

58. Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

I did enjoy this but the first one would be in my top 10 of last year so now this position doesn't look very good. It was an alright story and it was nice to see how the characters progressed after life in the maze but it just felt like characters we liked oddly placed in a zombie movie instead which was a bit annoying, especially when the maze was such an interesting concept and a visual treat to watch, this seemed like a big step back almost. Dylan O'Brien is massively likeable as lead though so I do hope we see more of him in actual movies soon...

http://i.imgur.com/08Ksgc9.jpg

59. Spectre

We're beginning to get that stage now where I enjoyed everything and it's hard to pick off what has to come next. Spectre was enjoyable but compared to other spy movies this year, just nowhere near as exciting. All the explosions, fight scenes and car chases look exquisite and so well done but I feel like we've seen everything so many times before and this just added nothing so I did get a bit bored, especially with its excessive run time which was a bit ridiculous really. Everything just seems so outdated like hiring Monica Bellucci just so Bond can sleep with her and leave her feels like such an old thing to do and should really be abandoned with the new Bond actor if we get one. Daniel Craig was just really boring in this too which is a shame seeing as he was the actual lead, thought Lea Seydoux outshone him a lot.

http://i.imgur.com/Ntphbs0.jpg

60. Steve Jobs

The dialogue in this was so intense from start to finish, it was all very witty but had really big emotional moments too, you felt so bad for Fassbender's child in all of those scenes. Fassbender was absolutely excellent in this too, so utterly engaging and you couldn't take your eyes off him in any scene. Kate Winslet did a good job too and I really liked her accent, glad she's getting awards nominations because she's so lovely too. The three act set up was interesting too and I like how apparently they used different camera technology in each act depending on the tech available at the time which is a subtlety that I really like the idea of. My problem with this movie was that there was quite a bit of technical jargon and a few times I was a bit lost before I could catch up.

Hi Josh

The first Maze Runner was already a bit 'meh' to me and this one was even worse. Obviously a long way off being Hunger Games standard but I prefer the Divergent movies too. Shame as it has a good looking, young male cast. :( :P

Steve Jobs, I appreciated the three act set-up and the cast were good in their roles but it did lose me a bit by the end and Steve didn't come across as being very likable did he.

Hi Jack!

Ah I love the first one because it had an interesting concept but this one just became generic, I prefer the Divergent/HG movies too though as you say. Dylan is v good looking yes <3 :P

Nah, he didn't at all but I guess he wasn't in real life either if this film is anything to go by, it was a good insight into his personal life I thought and the acting was spectacular!

Thanks :D

Going to finish off that last round of five now that I've decided what to get rid of next and the next lot of five will go up tonight or tomorrow hopefully :D

You're both SO WRONG about 'Maze Runner'! Definitely my fave of these dystopian future sorta films!

56. The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

This is just one of those movies that is so charming that you can't but love it. The cast is spectacular and they are all just so likeable, especially Judi Dench, Celia Imrie, Ronald Pickup, Dev Patel and Maggie Smith, the latter in particular had a great moment when she was ranting about the 'lukewarm p**s' that had been served to her, otherwise known as 'tea' The reason it's this low is because it just isn't that thrilling in all honesty, it's a lovely way to spend a little time but compared to other films, your heart is never racing. Saying that, the scene were Maggie Smith might be dead was probably the saddest scene in a movie this year for me

and in the end she was alive and well

so props to this film for just having such amazing characters. I didn't really like Richard Gere in this though, his character just didn't appeal to me. I'd love this to turn into a franchise now that can just keep going on as they add new elderly actors each time, it's a film series that just has so much charm I'd watch a new one every time.
