Posted January 7, 20169 yr pco91kroVgQ VERY late reveal sorry, you've all probably forgotten about this lol. In second place we have the lead POP MUSIC EMERGENCY single 'Applause'. A song I haven't really warmed to since the initial hype died. It's simple in many ways and quite overly complex in others but it doesn't really gel as a song for me. Still, I recognise the need for her to go commercial in the light of "flop" calls, but this was totally the wrong way to go about it in my opinion. It's a fun song, incredibly catchy and the lyrics are arty~ bordering on pretentious nonsense which is what we like so it did do well to tick many of the Gaga essential boxes. The video was a cacophony of visuals, explosions, theatrics and crazy costumes; vintage crazed Gaga at its best. 01. Do What U Want (ft. R. Kelly) 02. Applause (17 votes, 53.12%) 03. Sexxx Dreams (10 votes, 43.48%) 04. G.U.Y. (8 votes, 44.44%) 05. Aura (10 votes, 38.46%) 06. Gypsy (6 votes, 28.57%) 07. Venus (6 votes, 25.00%) 08. Artpop (9 votes, 34.62%) 09. MANiCURE (19 votes, 50.00%) 10. Dope (11 votes, 33.33%) 11. Swine (7 votes, 33.33%) 12. Mary Jane Holland (5 votes, 31.25%) 13. Donatella (10 votes, 40.00%) 14. Fashion! (12 votes, 36.36%) 15. Jewels n' Drugs (ft. T.I., Too Short & Twista) [13 votes, 44.83%] Meaning that the winner was the album's second single, featuring R. Kelly (yes really), the totally revealing and revering 'Do What U Want'. The song talks of her struggle with the media, people's growing negative perception of her as an artist and the sexual exploitations of her femininity, something she has alluded to several times before. It's a liberating song both for Gaga herself and the listener. She lets go of her restraints and cries for freedom throughout and it goes someway to achieving that in all of its frenzies glory. The music video that never surfaced was rumoured to be her most controversial to date. It took the lyrics of the song literally, with Gaga being subjected to forced sexual activities and was so explicit it eventually burnt out and was never revealed to the public. Some stills and images from it did appear and many have thought that it's for the best that it never materialised. A potential nail in the coffin of her career. The song was a moderate success, built up through the strength of it alone and it remains (as you have agreed) the strongest song from her latest album. Thank you all for the votes across these polls. Your winner ~ A3jzMyYgPQs

January 9, 20169 yr Author Gypsy is the one I am most shocked at too. Thought it was highly regarded by most! Definitely in the top 5 of the album (and I know #6 isn't far off top 5 but still :heehee:). Applause making it that high is horrible ;o
