I think this would have done much much better if released straight after Rockabye-Symphony, they waited too long and the songs we waited for are not worth it

Very underwhelmed. They woulda been better off dropping an EP or making some of the singles since 2016 non-album as on album its a whole mishmash.

Anne-Marie collab the standout here for me although its not v modern. This does not scream album to follow up a #1 single tbh.

I think they have been going downhill since Neil Amin-Smith's departure.

Debuts at #19
With sales of 15k, which makes the position not as bad as it seems (would've bagged them a top 10 if not in Q4) but still a big underperformance.

Hopefully 'Mama' can do well for them.

But outside Q4 it's likely it wouldn't have sold as much as 15k as well.

Finally got around to listen to the album today, of all the non-singles, You should've known better and In us I believe are the best, 24 hours and Playboy style are close second. Others are good but not brilliant.

Nowhere and Beautiful are the dullest of all the non-singles, wouldn't hurt if they weren't there.

The album could've been a lot better with better arrangement, I wouldn't have listed all the singles (ie all the best song) as the first four tracks.

not bad at all considering dance music doesn't sell albums

But they really can hardly be any more pop than they already are.

1. We literally JUST had a number 1 album from The Prodigy

2. They have very much morphed into a pop act! Only "Tears" and a little lesser extent "Symphony" can really be considered dance this era.

Prodigy is the exception

Only dance act i can think of that have been consistently selling albums for the last 25 years

All of the Chemical Brothers last six albums have gone to #1, debut hit #9.

In any case, this album is really growing on me (appreciate "Beautiful" and the nod to their original sound) - it's a shame the public haven't picked up on it though.

Down to just #28 in the mids whereas The 1975 have tumbled to #37. Perhaps this will have some legs then?

(Still yet to actually listen to the record, flop fan)
