Unfortunately, streaming and lack of airplay will go against Kylie in terms of singles. The only chance of a reasonable hit is with someone like Calvin Harris. However, I do believe she could sell a decent number of albums if the right material is released. It needs to be a maturer sound suitable for her age and not all this cringey sex stuff like on kiss me once or Americanised sound.

Yes I agree but the reason why Kylie decided to go with BMG is because the guy she worked with from the Fever era and he promised the next album to be a "big classic Kylie pop record" which is, you know, more of the same stuff.

I have enjoyed several of Kylie;s ballads but it appears most fans do not enjoy them as much.

Ballad and Kylie usually don't mix well, the most notable standout being "Bittersweet Goodbye" but I love Flowers and her duet with Hurts, as well as ballads on KM 94 and IP album.

Considering who she is working with, there's a chance whatever she did with Lauren could be a melancholic up or mid tempo. Let's not write everything off before we

know anything.

Really should have been posted in the album thread but I'll let it stay here for now.

Good news in the article, sounds like a return (lyrically) to the Impossible Princess days. The Sigala song sounds good too.

Best bit was

“It looks like her album could be her most political yet too, with talk of tracks covering issues like LGBT rights."

KYLIE GETTING WOKE *.*

I don't want to get my hopes up because I know what the media are like for over-hyping things but, I have to admit, I am liking what I'm hearing from that article. Working with big pop producers; 90s dance throwback; LGBTQ protest songs - it's like Kylie has dropped the attempts to reclaim younger audiences and is just embracing everything that her fans love and want from her.

I know The Sun is not exactly the most reliable media outlet.

I'm not allowing myself to get my hopes up for this as I was so disappointed with Kiss me Once, sometimes I think the next album can only be better. I'd love another Light years style comeback.
I think this album will be a lot better than kiss me once. When she started with Parlophone, they released light years which is still one of her best albums released under that label. She is working with some cool producers so Ive got my fingers crossed. She's unlikely to have a big hit again thanks to streaming but she still has a loyal fan base!
Ya, regardless of the song she will struggle with the singles, id be happy for a top 20 for the lead single, i hope she releases a phyisical cd single version as she has the fan base (me included) who would buy it. Take That done this with Giants and it was what got it into the top 15.

I'd say top 40 is achievable, but somewhere between 25-39. Certainly not top 20 or above. Album will be safely top 10 and at least Silver, which is all we can hope for.

I believe top 40 is extremely achievable for her if she gets everything right. A good song that her fans want, good promotion and marketing would be hugely helpful and i would totally welcome a physical release either on vinyl or cd or possibly both. Doing this could potentially add 10,000 sales on release week.

Her album should go minimum top 5, again, if released at the right time, on a quiet week she could be in the running for number 1.

Come up on my Facebook feed that Kylie's working with songwriter Amy Wadge.

She's co-written a shitload of songs with Ed Sheeran so wouldn't be surprised if one of the songs is pushed as a single in attempt to get a hit.

Pretty much. I hope it works for Kylie, not necessarily in terms of the charts, but in terms of actually sounding good. Anything associated with Ed Sheeran usually has me rolling my eyes, but 'Say You Love Me' worked fantastically for Jessie Ware, for instance, so I'm hoping for a similar sort of success.
I am not what i would say excited on this news as it does not shout Pop Single. She has said she is going back to her pop roots. If this news is true, i get a sense she is chasing trends and as we clearly saw with I was Gonna Cancel this was disastrous for her.

The writing suggests nothing about the sound though?
I got sent another feed yesterday that Kylie is working on a country-influence album and that she is currently recording in Nashville.

I really doubt she's gonna go Country for a whole album, at most there might be a banjo twang or two.
