Following on from her Golden Globe win at the weekend for her acting, Lady Gaga is now an Oscar nominee in the "Best Original Song" category for 'Til It Happens To You' :cheer:

Hopefully she has a shot at winning, I really enjoy it as a song and when some of the competition is the meh 'Writing's On The Wall' and the shite 'Earned It'..

For a moment I thought it was a nod for her iffy acting!!

Lot that's already had enough awards ;)

I really hope she does win this though, it's the best in the catagory, and something NEEDS to block Sam Smith.

Yeah, I'd really love this to win; incredibly powerful song vocally and lyrically. I like 'Writing's on the Wall' and 'Earned It' but chart success shouldn't be the deciding factor for an award like this. I think she does have a good shot at winning, but just the recognition alone is fantastic.
Till It Happens to You is such a magical song to me, I really hope she wins, she deserves it and if it beats that unbearable sam smith track that'll be proof enough god exsists
It feels like she's making the right moves at the moment to bring public perception back around in her favour, I'm glad for her. I am rooting for her to pull it out of the bag for the next album campaign!

Linda Perry attacked Gaga for this nomination claiming she didn't write the song.... but quickly backtracked once she got her facts straight :')

Linda Perry has backtracked after hitting out at Lady Gaga's Best Original Song Oscar nod.

The 50-year-old took to Twitter to apologize on Monday just hours after she claimed that Gaga didn't pen the lyrics to the nominated track, Til It Happens To You.

Perry's apology came after she blasted Lady Gaga on Twitter, saying she didn't deserve her Oscar nomination for Best Original Song at the 88th Academy Awards.

The musician believed 29-year-old Gaga only wrote one line of her hit, Til It Happens To You and in fact, songwriter Diane Warren should be given merit.

The 50-year-old wrote early on Monday: 'Normally I wouldn't respond to all this but I don't know Im feeling spunky. There was another artist that originally was gonna sing #TIHTY.
