I remember enjoying a lot of Unbreakable ('No Sleeep' was such a cool, seductive jam that I wish I appreciated even more at the time) so no doubt I'll like a lot of classic Janet. On a similar note, I was going through MJ's albums and I thought that in many regards that Dangerous was a more interesting listen than either of Thriller or Bad, and I feel that album's quite in line with the music Janet makes. Dangerous is the best (perhaps)! Bad is one of the most perfect albums ever made in my opinion, but Dangerous also has incredible highs (albeit with some filler). The run of Who Is It > Give In To Me > Will You Be There is the strongest run of songs I know, yes more so than the opening 3 songs in Confessions. Give In To Me is my #1 MJ song I can't separate Bad and Dangerous, both become my favourite depending on my mood.

You see, a lot of the Bad singles are fantastic and classic MJ but it feels too much like a Greatest Hits rather than an album that takes you on a journey. Perhaps I'm just not paying enough attention, because I know the album deals with important issues, but Dangerous just felt a lot more cohesive. Plus it's always nice to notice new things about albums the more you listen to them but, because the Bad album is largely made up of singles, you feel you know the songs inside out immediately. It's similar with Madonna's True Blue. If I was to rate every song out of 10, it would be high scores across the board, but I still wouldn't place it near the very top end in terms of her best albums.
January 28, 20178 yr What do we want from Madonna for a new album........., I think Madonna could connect with some spiritual, political and possibly African culture theme. So Madonna doesn't repeat herself......not much but in some ways yes, since Bedtime Stories her progressive shift to electronic music has remained in some way. I think there is room for hard core spiritual electronic dance music. Reviewing RoL I think it was pretty clever and has stood the test of time. If Madonnas music is being listened to less why not create a stink, stop the lame predictable stuff and just be herself. Let's have some kick ass tunes and be cutting edge. She's a great artist and I have to say tracks like Sky Fits Heaven, Skin, Gang Bang, Impressive Instant, Paradise, Future Lovers, I'm Addicted and Bedtime Stories are all worth songs. I'd really like a combined chilled dance orientated hard core electronic sound. After all she has the pick of the worlds writers and producers hoping she does something great.
