Well here's an artist I thought we'd left in 2009/10... Jay Sean returns with new single 'Make My Love Go' featuring the iconic Sean Paul who collaborated together on 'Do You Remember'. The song is dancehall based with an infusion of pop making it accessible. This sounds like the sort of song the UK would love and the production, reminiscent of 'Sorry', is incredibly on point for 2016. Jumping on trend perhaps?

I listened to this yesterday and thought quite the opposite, it sounds like it's come straight out of 2010 to my ears!

I do see your point but I think the production isn't as basic as the dance-pop songs of 2010 and the dancehall influence we've heard lots recently brings it up to date.
