I think the whole album is going to be in that style! I'm still not too keen on 'Heatstroke' but 'Slide' sounds proper amazing right now.

The song in the album preview sounds like it has potential too.

(and no - those 3 won't be on the album)

Yes! A Rihanna collab with his R&B-y production would be amazing

This thread should arguably be in urban, Calvin's last two songs weren't very dancey and more R&B, but I still liked Slide anyway in particular.

I assume there will be a Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2. then (maybe the first one will be more R&B and the second one will be more dancey)

I thought he said he wouldn't release albums anymore?

Rule 1: everybody lies

anyway, kinda excited to hear MOAR new Calvin, despite that I can't really decide whether I like it or not.

I wonder why Calvin is moving away from dance. I know the genre is definitely undergoing a dry period in the charts at the minute, especially in America where the chart EDM boom finally ended last year after The Chainsmokers moved away from dance music.

I think he initially planned for every song from this album to be singles, but after the HUGE disaster that was Heatstroke, he realised that releasing singles every month may damage him as an artist and so just slung it on a so-called album.

I am also intrigued by the Katy Perry collaboration. I had hoped that they'd collaborate one day so it is great to see it happen.

Really wanted the Ellie collab, but as it seems we shall be getting Vol.2 in due course, I'm not so worried.

I hope Calvin goes back to his 2012-2014 days. The quality of his songs back then were incredible, now they're just crappy urban tracks with a boring, slow and repetitive beat.

FYI, Khalid and Future are on a track together, which is from the song featured in the trailer.

It sounds like another summertime R&B anthem! This could legit be the album of 2017 most full of bangers. If you had told me on January 1st that Calvin Harris would be producing this many great songs I wouldn't have believed you.

'Slide' is alright (the less said about 'Heatstroke' the better), but in all honesty I couldn't be less enthused by this whole era. :(

In 2013/2014 the prospect of a Calvin and Katy collab would have really excited me, now I'm imagining it combining all the worst aspects of 'Heatstroke' and 'Bon Appétit'.

Slide is probably my favourite song of the year so far, sounds amazing whenever the sun is shining. Heatstroke would have been better received if it was Pharrell ft. Young Thug and Ariana I reckon.
Heatstroke could've been great if it weren't for Young Thug taking up more than half the song. There isn't enough of Pharrell and Ariana.
Heatstroke throwing away an Ariana collab makes me not as excited for the Katy collab as I usually would be but I can't see Calvin molding Katy into an urban-type track. I can't see it being anything other than dance-pop, like the Rihanna/Ellie tracks.
I think it's more likely that the Katy collab will be her singing the hook and some rapper doing the rest and will still be in Calvin's RnB style. A dance-pop track would sound very odd on this album when he seems to have left that style of production behind for now.

True, which would explain why This is What You Came For isn't being included.

I'm not exactly inspired by the title. I haven't liked either of his last two songs which are some of the worst stuff he's done. I'm hoping the album will be more dance orientated overall but looking at the list of people he's worked with I fear he's heading in more of an urban direction which will disappoint many fans including my self.
Does anyone else feel like this wasn't meant to be an album?

Me, cuz the motto "no more albums" has reversed so quick and, by the way, the 'line-up' definitely looks like a real mess.

Many of us excited of Katy Perry collab, and this excitement I don't share (soz), as it will hardly appear a real banger...just a feeling, no more.
