That's inspired me, also through a state of boredom, to update my top 28. I did it after Heat 4 but obviously I've had a month for everything to settle in now and look at things retrospectively outside of the contest:

3. Isa - I Will Wait

4. Lisa Ajax - My Heart Wants Me Dead

5. Molly Sanden - Youniverse

6. Robin Bengtsson - Constellation Prize

7. Dolly Style - Rollercoaster

8. Oscar Zia - Human

9. SMILO - Weight Of The World

10. Panetoz - Hall om mig Hart

11. Mimi Werner - Ain't No Good

12. Krista Siegfrids - Faller

13. David Lindgren - We Are Your Tomorrow

14. Linda Bengtzing - Killer Girl

15. Molly Petterson-Hammar - Hunger

16. Swingfly (feat. Helena Gutarra) - You Carved Your Name

17. Frans - If I Were Sorry

18. Albin & Mattias - Rik

19. Victor och Natten - 100%

20. Boris Rene - Put Your Love On Me

Im not a fan of the Swedish entry this year as I don't like that style of music. With Russia and Sweden the big faves this year I would refer Russia to win based on song.

Not sure where this ought to go but this was quite an amusing review (and from my basic digging I think they're doing them all).

what a year loves!

Wiktoria has really grown on me too since the deltävling.

Samir & Viktor AHEAD of Anna Book though?!

I still can't stop playing Kizunguzungu, though it makes me wish Waka Waka had a key change.

Oh let's be honest, Himmel för två was great live but on record it's little more than cheap fun filler. You can really tell the Kempe pedigree to Bada nakna, even though it took me a while to really EMBRACE it

Your taste is sublime love. I cannot get enough of After Dark at this point.

  • 2 weeks later...

I can't quite believe what I've just seen, but I was naturally watching New Music Mondays on VIVA and, after videos from Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, Hailee Steinfeld, Meghan Trainor and ZAYN, Frans came on! Frans on a UK Music Channel is shocking enough, but a month before Eurovision even takes place? Unbelievable!

He's also getting plays on Beats 1 Radio too!

Someone on Moopy has announced that Frans has signed to Columbia in the UK and will send 'If I Were Sorry' to radio next week here! :o
Sweden are really gunning for that 7th win! Good plan to try and get it everywhere before the contest.

The comparisons with Lena get stronger with each day! Both have talk-singing voices with quirky "British" accents, both have/had simple staging and now Frans could be joining Lena in having a big pre-contest hit.

The similarities are even higher for me as I didn't really like either Frans or Lena on first listen but both have grown to be two of my favourite Eurovision songs of recent times - although it took Lena until the final night itself to grow on me due to me not listening to all the songs endlessly pre-contest like I do now.

I still can't at this. His "vocals" remain hideous and it's gonna be even worse if, of all Eurovision songs, THIS is the one that becomes an actual hit as well as winning :manson:
I am VERY excited at the prospect of this being a UK hit! It sounds perfectly current and something that radio would love without the Eurovision tag, I hope that doesn't taint things.
This is sure to be a hit both at and outside Eurovision, but whilst I'm always pleased to see a song from the contest do well on the charts, this one isn't one that I can say the same about. Rather than being an amazing song doing well because it's undeniable, this is so pandering and obvious and tailored to do well that it being a Eurovision entry is only tangential AT BEST. I mean it's better than anything Ed Sheeran has ever sharted out, but that's SCANT PRAISE.
