basically everything Liam has said but I wouldn't be able to say it as eloquently

like a prayer was basically the first moment I knew / appreciated Madonna as a kid so glad it got top 2. for so many reinventions it's hard to say which one was most impactful but for me it's the ray of light era where I never really cared for / got to hear her music beforehand. like even age 7 I could bop to it alongside steps and spice girls and it's stood a better test of time than all the songs by both.

Good to see there was no doubt about 'Ray of Light' being Top 2, looking at those Griff-less results. I was fully expecting to be pushed down to like #5.

I was slightly older at about 10 or 11 when I first bought Ray of Light but I felt the same. There was something so enchanting about the production and Madonna's voice that meant it even appealed to my trashy pop tastes, despite the fact I'd dismiss anything similar if it wasn't Madonna.
