I don't agree that 'Move' underperformed at all. In fact, I recall it exceeding anyone's expectation on here, since pre-orders were a good indication of a debut position back then, and it was constantly languishing in the 1000s frighteningly close to release. Plus, it got 12 weeks top 40 (more than 'Wings'), which was a long-running hit back in 2013. I know it was a lead single and all, but it was coming off the back of the DNA era, which wasn't exactly huge for them - most of their hype evaporated after the one-two punch floppage of CYL and HYD.

Move is still one of their most known singles and it out-performed what it looked like on pre-orders. But in terms of a lead single from the second album given how well DNA(album) and Wings did the initial expectations were a bit higher, but because of streaming Move is only about 100k behind Wings and I'd say Move was more fondly remembered in hindsight.

I totally forgot about One Direction, yes they are easily first, i sometimes forget they came from X Factor. Ranking updated for most successful

rewatching the Hair video. Can't believe it's already passed 78.5 million views, just 2 months after it was uploaded! I'm sure Black Magic was the quickest to reach 100 mil, but could Hair get there in shorter time? I don't know how long BM took to get to 100 million. Hair will surely be the second fastest if nothing else, as I'm sure Move and Wings took a year or 2. Incredible also that after 2 months it's comfortabley surpassed the views of LMLY and SLS as well!

Yeah. The video for 'Hair' has really sold the song. I still absolutely adore it. I'd go as far as saying it's actually my fave video of theirs!

It's definitely one of my favourites. As I probably said at the time, I love the fact it shows the girls' personalities and friendship

The rate it's been falling the past 2 weeks, I don't see that happening unfortunately. I imagine it'll get another week, possibly two. A year in the top 40 would be incredible though, and a fitting way to see off this era (if 'Hair' is indeed the last single).

I'd say 6-8 more weeks in the Top 100 is probably about right, which fortunately should be plenty long enough for it to go Gold

31 this week. Only a two place drop, which isn't too bad when you consider that it's dropped 11 places over the last two weeks

Yeah. That's a great hold for them at this stage of their chart career! We're getting to Summer now so we're seeing more releases each week and labels dropping the price of songs etc... They should make 'Hair' 59p asap, to help it hold steady for another couple of weeks inside the top 40, imo!

Syco sadly never seem to want to discount recent songs. They should have done this with Perfect, Love Me Like You, Secret Love Song, Sax and New Girl but didn't do it with any of them.

Yeah. Such a shame. :(

 

I just really want them to get to the "year in the chart" mark! I think we should just stream the hell out of 'Hair' these next couple of weeks or so! :lol:
