Yay at Formation smashing. It is one of the highlights of Lemonade. The album artwork is her worst to date though (not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things).

It's not too crazy considering how much digital sales have decreased since her last release - makes it easier for big acts to make a big splash on the iTunes chart. Not to mention that Beyoncé is one of a handful of megastars in the music world.

I thoroughly hope Tidal implodes one day soon.

That's a very good point actually. I just hate the image and font on Lemonade whereas I at least like the font on Beyonce.

let's not forget Beyoncé's album tracks are only selling so well because it costs less to cherry pick all the album than to actually buy the album. If she released a version of the album without the hour long video for £10.99 or less then there wouldn't be such an invasion.

 

She's doing incredibly well nonetheless.

As basic as the self-titled artwork is, I still really like it. I find it quite striking.

 

So do we think any of the Lemonade tracks will make the top 40 come Friday, or is it too late?

Yeah I like Lemonade as a title too. It's probably her best album title to date. The others have been a bit crap bar 'I Am... Sasha Fierce'.

Anyone think Formation could debut top 10?

It has no streaming (well it has Tidal but that means nothing really) so I'd be surprised if it debuts there!

I can see at least '6 inch' and 'Freedom' being top 10 on iTunes by tomorrow, unless they bring down they album a couple of quid, which they should. It's kind of annoying, as I don't think they'll fall away as immediately fast as say, The Prince songs did. Seeing 'Formation' at #1 would be glorious though, especially after I've loved it for so many months now.

I have to say, even taking into account all the hysteria and the fact it's cheaper to buy the individual tracks, I'm surprised by how well the Beyoncé songs are doing. I really hope "Formation" can go top 10 either this week or next because it deserves to be up there high in her chart history.
