great for Radiohead, on the other hand James Blake is kinda underperforming and might miss the top 20 :(

damit Drake retaking the #1 and with a big lead, I kinda thought (naively) that Calvin/Rihanna might have a chance since they have a big big lead on itunes and the lead is shrinking daily on Spotify

Shawn Mendes will surely miss in singles when streams are added but maybe some of those songs in the 41-50 region might sneak in, they are all doing ok on Spotify

Calvin's streaming has increased from last week and has not left #1 on iTunes yet he's slipped to #2. Hope Gnash makes top 40 and that Drake's streaming decreases next week. Gutted Shawn Mendes won't make the top 40 but good to see that will.i.am will make it

I'm gonna say it every week he's still at Number 1 but I'm just so baffled by the ongoing success of that Drake song, I just don't get the love for it

I don't get the ongoing success for the song, especially when it's one he ripped off. It just seems these days that Spotify does more justice for a song than iTunes does. Maybe the hype with the Drake song is that every room in a club will play it. They played it in the r&b room on Saturday when I was out and they also played it in the dance room. At the end of the day, I'd rather see a one week #1 with massive sales than a six week #1 with poor sales

Drake is in no way selling poorly though :P He's not doing Robin Thicke/Avicii type numbers either but this isn't 2013 anymore.

his weekly sales totals:

#21 - 25,440

#1 - 72,615

#1 - 115,078

#1 - 128,535

#1 - 140,731

Total so far - 482,399

and another 100k at least this week.

What's that got to do with anything? As Dan says, its sales have been more than healthy.

I'm on about doing over 100k paid for sales, not doing over 100k with streaming points, like on a 2008 level

No song has had 100k weekly paid for sales yet this year. The last song to do it was A Bridge Over You.

I know that. We've even had an album pass 100k paid for sales even though album sales have been absolutely poor

But my point is that nothing is having massive sales at the moment, so I don't see how that makes Drake's poor. It's all relative. The album market is much more frontloaded than the current singles market so that's not a good comparison.

people are streaming tracks instead of buying downloads ~ time and methods of consuming music moves on ^_^

the concept of ‘paid for sales’ only charts is well on the way to becoming as redundant as using 'sheet music' pre-1952~ :P

Looking increasingly likely that Beyoncé will return to number 1 next week in the Albums (can't see Meghan Trainor getting there with her new Album)
The Drake single is abysmal. I don't get it at all. Would rather Calvin Harris or Justin Timberlake be number one any day.

Never underestimate Kygo who has an album out on Friday

Drakes streaming is going to slow down eventually the song is 3 to 4 weeks older besides Calvin/rihanna sold more in week 1 than drake did in his so they still have time I wouldn't completely write it off yet they still have a chance maybe next week or the week after if not maybe the could challenge for best selling number 2 :kink:
Hope Benny Benassi & Chris Brown make it to the top 40. In the albums, it's brilliant to see that Radiohead are stopping Beyoncé from returning to #1
