Was probably overworked with all the spin offs-2012 was when the begun to become more frequent. I can't believe they'd sack him after 29 years over a tracklist. I still don't get what the problem with Now 81 is?

Quite possibly, it must be quite tiresome to be given a pool of about 300 songs and be expected to churn out a 60 song spin-off every couple of weeks. I liked Now 81, the sequencing was as good as it could have been I thought.
It wasn't my favourite Now but it was representative of the time period. Plus Jason Mraz made it on to Now 82 anyway.

The spin-offs became more frequent when Jenny Fisher took charge. I still say they need him back. There's now lack of Rihanna on NOW albums since he left. If he was in charge, "Stay" would have made it onto the main series

Guys. The track listing from Amazon is correct, 'cos you can pre-order it on iTunes and it's the same track listing! I could cry!

Good news guys! It's been taken off iTunes and on Amazon there's a description saying:

"It's been an incredible few years for dance music. EDM heavyweights like Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris and David Guetta through to the new class of Disclosure, Route 94 & Martin Garrix have taken over, topping charts globally.

The Very Best of NOW Dance is a 62 track, ‘all in one place' round-up of dance tracks, huge remixes and an incredible 34 chart-topping number ones!"

Maybe there's hope after all!

It's still on iTunes for me! Dreadful release, I definitely won't even consider buying it.
I still have the 2005 version of the Best of Now Dance. That will suffice so I'm not worried.

Oh I didn't scroll down far enough when I was looking for it  But oh no :( It does seem they originally had a great set of tracks they wanted to include, but perhaps the budget ran short or something. If that's the case, there is no harm in removing it and trying something else.

Maybe iTunes have it wrong also. (I'm in total denial)

the 2005 & 2010 versions are fantastic! As is NOW Dance Anthems from '09.

The Blink 182 swearing incident on Now 49, and the Sugababes one on Now 56 that didn't even get fixed were surely worse. He just retired didn't he? Anyone know how old he is?

"Hole In the Head" wasn't supposed to be that way on Now 56?

I don't think the word shit was supposed to get through but it seems no one really noticed.

They never edit out the word "bullshit" from George Michael's "Fastlove"
Hmmmmmm, I just figured the UK was more lax about those words, and things have only gotten stricter in recent years. I think the word used to be permitted on regular primetime US TV in the 90s, but not anymore. I remember it being said in at least one older episode of Friends.

Edited by Casey

Little Jackie gets away with "My juvenile bullshit" completely unedited on Now 71, like Fastlove it's rather indistinct and not that clear - where as on the Blink 182 track their word is unmissable.
I have a swear version of Now 49. I didn't know they'd quickly rereleased until years later.
I wonder actually which one is rarer as my copy is the 'swear version' too - you'd wonder perhaps if actually it's the non-swear version that's harder to find, as everyone would have bought Now 49 in the first week or two, surely?

Apparently they had to pull it back and re-release it, but in the rush they forgot to put the artists in bold on the track listing on the back.

Hmmmm!

I was just about to say that but you beat me to it. If you go to a That's Entertainment shop, they are selling NOW 49 for £2 or 3 for £5. If you want the clean version, the artist's mentioned are not written in bold. If they are written in bold, it's the explicit version. Surprised no one has mentioned the swear word on Nickelback's "Rockstar" which is on NOW 69
