October 1, 200618 yr The Smiths by a LONG way for me  Very inspirational and sadly often misinterpreted as 'depressing' <_<
October 1, 200618 yr Author The Smiths by a LONG way for me  Very inspirational and sadly often misinterpreted as 'depressing' <_< i actaully got the best of dvd the other day cheap. i found that girlfriend in a coma song so totally funny (not as funny as bryan ferry singing perhaps ) and also charming man is up with the monkees as a great end of the night jangly old tune however weird to see that most of the 'videos' were from old totp shows from years and years ago. does this mean that they hardly ever did proper videos
October 2, 200618 yr ELECTRONIC ARE THE ONLYONES I WOULDNTVOTE FOR HERE i do like them but i prefer the other 3 acts
October 2, 200618 yr The Smiths.... New Order are a very close second, the only thing that is a minus-point as far as NO is concerned is Barney's rather weak vocals in comparison to Moz.... Pet Shop Boys did some decent stuff, as did Electronic...

October 2, 200618 yr A tough call, but it has to be The Smiths, just ahead of Pet Shop Boys & New Order.
March 20, 201114 yr New Order - I would put the Pet Shop Boys second and The Smiths 3rd. I love all 4.
March 20, 201114 yr The Smiths but adding Morrissey's solo work into the poll weakens their dominance. His solo stuff is patchy at best Edited March 20, 201114 yr by Severin
March 21, 201114 yr How can it even be a question, there is a link between The Smiths and Electronic (Johnny Marr) but what else? PSB music is fine until Tennant opens his mouth etc
March 21, 201114 yr the smiths they are one of the most influential bands in history :) . :cheer: Got that right!
March 21, 201114 yr I like all three but New Order are way out in front for me. However, when both The Smiths or PSB get it bang on (Panic, Ask, How Soon is Now?, Suburbia, It's a Sin, Always on my Mind) then they are virtually untouchable.
March 21, 201114 yr How can it even be a question, there is a link between The Smiths and Electronic (Johnny Marr) but what else? PSB music is fine until Tennant opens his mouth etc I was thinking the same thing. I vote The Smiths - although I fail to see how you could compare them to the rest.
March 21, 201114 yr Marr, Tennant and Sumner were all in Electronic together hence the (irrelevent) poll (which was pretty typical of Tigerboy's post IIRC.)

PSB music is fine until Tennant opens his mouth etc Electronic was originally made up of members from the other 3 bands. Bernard Sumner and Neil Tennant both have vocal duties on Electronic tracks... Getting Away With It
