it's not as terrible as some of you are making it out to be.

 

I am disappointed though, especially with Drew's vocal taking up half the song. It's not as good as any of their previous hits or the underrated 'Inside Out'.

Yeah it's rather good and the beginning gave me Youngr from BJSC teas :D I do agree that this uncredited Drew person sounds like he's bored singing in it though :lol: Halsey sounds great as per, if only there was a version with Halsey singing the whole thing? :P it might flop in commercial terms though.

 

And both artists have had better songs too

Not sure what a "hit" sounds like these days outside the obvious, but for me it sounds perfect mid-tempo end of summer..

On first listen, this was a HUGE step down from Don't Let Me Down. It's a shame because The Chainsmokers/Halsey on paper looked like a recipe for a surefire banger. Maybe it'll grow but I have nothing making me want to return initially.

Don't Let Me Down wasn't harmed by the fact Roses was impacting early on in its release. It will be fine.

Roses/DLMD was a weird one. It was if Roses never really did take off proper & in the end IT was the one in fact being swallowed by DLMD despite the latter coming afterwards!

It doesn't really excite me.

What a massive disappointment after the flawless DLMD. Ugh.

I'm quite enjoying it myself now actually, it's a bit of a grower - though I'd still rank Roses higher than this

^ i'm shocked tbh. I know it's a hit by numbers but that's literally it. nothing special at all.

I really like this a lot, even though it sounds like everything else that's smashed this year there's something slightly charming about it for me, perhaps the punchy melody or Halsey, who still sounds exactly like Lena Meyer-Landrut to me.
