The gap between albums has nearly been 5 years now. :drama: That's like the duration between Music Of The Sun and Loud. :drama: The wait is too long I'm close to rihtiring.

I’m not losing hope this is coming soon, P!nk took five years between The Truth About Love and Beautiful Trauma (ik she had a side project in between those). She released an album just two years after BT so hopefully getting back on the promo trail will give Rih ‘the bug’ in terms of making music again and it won’t be light years until R10, that’s what I’m clinging to at least 😅

When we get the album I’m sure it’ll be a ‘surprise’ drop but it’d be more surprising to me if she put up a pre-order with bundles and vinyls *.* PLEASE reward us with the physicals after ANTI’s release was so botched!

That was my thought after she released 'Anti'. ''Surely she won't make us wait 3+ years again''. The truth is, music isn't her priority anymore. I'm not really up to date on P!nk, but Rihanna has so many side businesses now I don't think she'll ever want to go back to music full time. And that's okay. She's made her mark in the music industry. Up until very recently she was still the #1 most played female on Spotify even though she only released one album in the Spotify era.

Do I wish she was still as excited and passionate about making and releasing music? Yes, but it is what it is.

Rihanna’s main passion with the music she makes is now she’s making the kind of music she wants to create. I guess when she was huge and releasing an album each year her say on what want on those albums might not have been like the final one and she’s definitely way more involved in the writing process on her albums now than she was back then (perhaps Rated R is the other exception to that).

I’m torn on what I want. A surprise drop would work Rih and I do think her first week sales will be bigger than ANTIs but I’d also love bundles etc to just maximise on that first week. I’m so ready though for new music. I’d love it to come in November but my feeling is perhaps another January release for this. I would love a real campaign for the era too but yeah I didn’t really see that. Maybe a few performances here and there and a tour but with this album being a real comeback album for her I really hope she releases it when it’s safe to fully go in and promote.

I know R9 is going to be a game changer when it is released. It seems like she is very happy with the music she has done for the album. It is just finding the right timing for the release. I think 2021 will be the year we will finally get this album. The preview she played of Real High at SavageXFenty showed she is coming with something FRESH!

The ‘2019’ in the thread description is making me emotional

The ‘coming soon’ is doing the same to me.. I’ve been thinking it’s coming soon for nearly 2 years now

Is she ever gonna release this damn album or what? It is not even funny anymore. :suspic:

If she is waiting for the COVID-19 craze to be over then good luck with that.

i'm guessing its changed from being a 2 cd - one reggae, one standard Rihanna R&B/Pop? Wonder if there's something more going on behind the scenes... i know shes been enjoying Fenty Beauty and the easy income?

It's great for her that she's incredibly successful with Fenty, but I'm starting to wonder if she'll ever feel motivated to dedicating a few months of her time to an album's promotion/touring, or whether that's even at all practical for her anymore.

The "you can't rush music" line is fair enough in theory (but quite funny from the artist who managed to churn out 7 albums in 7 years :kink: ). I'm just not sure I totally buy what she says... maybe she's just trying to appease her music fans.

Maybe she'll surprise me and I'll be eating my words before long, but hmm. These days I'm seeing her more as being a celebrity business woman and less as a music artist.

Maybe she has just found the perfectionist in her after Anti was so well received and a commercial success? It's one of the benchmark albums of recent times, something that she wasn't used to when hurrying them albums once a year.
