It all depends on the competition. When is the Ed Sheeran album out?

October 29th.

This should easily be a #1 album

What makes you think that?

There's just so much hype behind it and I don't see much competition? And as it's his last album, I reckon it'll draw in a lot of Tony Bennett fans.
This week's #10 album sold 3.9k, and to think that Cheek To Cheek debuted at #10 in 2014 selling 10.5k in pure sales, enough to be #3 this week.

I mean Girls Aloud charting at #11 while selling 81,000 copies of Chemistry puts that in the dust. Robbed of a top 10 that album

I’d love this to be a UK #1 album but I just don’t know.

I think it may well peak higher than Cheek to Cheek did here in the UK just because of how sales are lower in general.

If the midweeks come out and they’re not too far from the top spot I’m sure Little Monsters and Gaga Daily will manage some sort of push to get it there though in a similar way to how we pushed to keep Chromatica number one for a second week.

I hope there’s some UK promo planned. Last time they managed a Strictly slot. I wonder if when they did the pre recorded shows they’ve kept some things for other territories to be released at some point? This would be an amazing way of giving Tony a well deserved UK #1 album though if it got there would he break a record for the oldest male to get a #1 album?

Ofc, there isn't a living artist that's older than Tony

I was really thinking hard.

Female wise I thought Vera Lynn was older when she had a #1 album (before she passed) but male wise I’m less sure. I know Tom Jones recently had a #1 album but he’s definitely not Tony’s age yet.

It would also likely break a record for the longest time span from first release to first chart topper.

Really want this to get the #1 now. It would in a way be the most poignant number 1 album not just across her career but across the charts history.

And that would be awesome and emotional for Tony, just imagine his picture with that OCC trophy.
