I'm not saying anyone's opinion is wrong (how can it be) but surely you cannot claim to think that the best music video by one of (if not the) popstar(s) of our generation is the only one she doesn't feature in?!

Britney is a total star, the camera recognises that. Even at her lowest points, she's just so spectacular... She's legendary! And she got where she is by starring in her music videos.

 

I think it's total blasphemy if you can see and recognise the cultural impact that her visuals had and continue to have on the pop scene..

The anime aspect of the BTI video may be interesting to some but it really isn't a part of her legacy at all.

I'm offended that you'd put Me Against the Music so low. It's so iconic. Way more iconic than the actual song.

I'm genuinely struggling to comprehend this. Like, you realise this is a music video rate, right? Have you just gone blind? Or something else?

 

I don't know how anyone could ever think that the 'Me Against The Music' video was completely devoid of merit. Excellent choreo, Britney looks incredible and has amazing attitude, the setups are great... what's the problem? The Madge scenes are a bit awkward I guess, but that's it.

 

MATM is gonna be a very easy 10 for me. Easily in her top 5 best videos.

I'm interested in his reply. I'm not sure how you could discredit Britney Spears' peak of dancing, just to prefer an animated version of her. I understand the brilliant storyline of the 'Break The Ice' video, but it is in no way better than Britney Spears in the flesh. Hell, that animated video you and Bal love wouldnt exist without her previous work. It's like me saying Madonna drew influence from Molly Ringwald movies.

madge ruins it. brits bits are good i guess but it's never been a video I've chosen to rewatch and even at the time it didn't really enter my concience. I'm mainly going off that too, how much a video stuck with me and how much I'd wanna watch it again. MATM is not up there for me. BTI on the other hand is so well made and at the time it really stuck with me. Also the fact it didn't have her in it made me concentrate more on the song (which in itself is an 11) and therefore keep going back to the video.

I'm a huge MJ fan but I wouldn't rate thriller higher than a lot of his other videos. I can see the merit in it but like with MATM it's never been one I've wanted to really rewatch. I used to go to a childminder and she would put moonwalker on almost every other day so most of the videos from Bad have become so iconic to me even if they're less iconic to other people because they're basically ingrained into my mind from all the rematching and memories that come along with them. I obviously wasn't around when Thriller came out so missed the cultural impact of it at the time and same with the videos from Bad but from the material I've chosen to watch and watch again it's the later because of how it makes me feel and how much it stayed with me from when I did first see. And it's the same with MATM. I wasn't that into her at the time. I liked her songs and watched her videos whenever they were shown in clips on TV shows (I didn't have music channels growing up either, that might say something) so at the time it didn't really impact me. BTI on the other hand was released when I'd actively decided to watch and listen to her and also the time of me being able to watch and rewatch over and over on YouTube. So as a result it sorta now holds a place up there for me.

That's fine I understand why it is your favorite video. I still don't understand how you think MATM doesn't deserve a score above 0? Regardless of any opinion. Britney outdancing Janet Jackson at least deserves a point on the board.

I totally get the enjoyment of the Break The Ice video, I find it equally as baffling that the video has multiple -1s.

i was also just bein over the top. using 0 and 11 was the best way to get my point across that they differ so much for me
