August 24, 20168 yr Author Frozen is bargain basement B side trash 'Frozen' is only B-side quality if something like 'Vogue' was on the other side. :D also girl gone wild is a B OPPPPP I actually had a listen to this the other night and found it alright and, dare I say it, quite catchy. I wasn't even drunk.
August 25, 20168 yr The problem with Girl Gone Wild is that it was released by a 50+ year old woman who references to herself after a tawdry VHS series.

August 25, 20168 yr GGW is a proper JAM, I agree. I often hear it while out (weirdly when i'm with Buzzjack members mainly) and it's always a riot. It gets played fairly often in gay clubs for such a "flop" single and i've grown to love it for that reason.
August 26, 20168 yr Author I do love the video for it and that probably helps me like the song that bit more. It may be all style and now substance, but said style is quite strong and it felt like more effort was put into making it than I'd expect, going by how well the era was handled and was performing up to that point.
August 26, 20168 yr She looks SO GOOD in the video. The tear moment is one of my favourite grabs/images of her.
August 27, 20168 yr For me~ Dear Jessie - This is an ok song and represents the dichotomy of the childish innocence with a grown up outlook on life most explicitly but it should've remained an album track. It's farrr too throwaway and young for such a powerful album. Turn Up The Radio - the album has so many HUGE moments how on earth was this completely tame and inoffensive one chosen (I realise that's probably why it was chosen but COME ON GANG BANG AND I'M ADDICTED :drama:) Bitch I'm Madonna - the era was going so well in terms of the style the album represents, innovative at times but also very nostalgic and looking back at the music that made Madonna, well Madonna. And then there's this which is almost a parody of how people see her now. She did not need this, at all. Devil Pray, Hold Tight, Joan of Arc, Iconic, Inside Out, Rebel Heart, Addicted - they all could've worked so much better :'( On the whole she has done well with not having too many horrible single choices but they seem to becoming more and more frequent as she tries to predict what the people want to hear instead of being true to own artistic vision.
August 28, 20168 yr Author She looks SO GOOD in the video. The tear moment is one of my favourite grabs/images of her. Yeah, that's probably the most striking (trying to avoid the overuse of 'iconic'!) image from the video. I love the whole upside down wall dancing look and the close-ups where she wears a similar outfit, just in all black instead of gold(?). For me~ Dear Jessie - This is an ok song and represents the dichotomy of the childish innocence with a grown up outlook on life most explicitly but it should've remained an album track. Agree with all these choices. 'Dear Jessie' is good as an album track, I love the transition and the conflicting meanings between it and 'Oh Father', but it's not strong enough as a single. 'Cherish' does the care-free, happy-clappy thing much better. I actually really like 'Turn Up the Radio' considering how naff it is but, yes, not worthy of being a single, especially with the awful video that came with. Tbf the album campaign was a mess from the start and I don't think there was any saving it at this point, so I'd rather see this flop than them release 'Gang Bang' or 'I'm Addicted' and have either of those flop. Yeah, 'Bitch I'm Madonna' wasn't necessary really. I'd still have liked it as a promo video/release or whatever but it shouldn't have taken the place of something like 'Devil Pray'. It made her seem like a parody, like you said, and just did far worse than it did good. You're quite right that she seems to be of late trying to predict what people want as an attempt to stay relevant, when all she needs to do to remain that is stick to her own artistry.
