KICKSTARTS- Example (53,757) #3 No 1 in 6 weeks in 2010 If it wasn’t for that pesky world cup generating hits for K’naan and Dizzee Rascal then this would have made the top spot but in the end it was trounced languishing behind the No 2 spot by 23k, but it would have been a chart topper in 6 weeks of the year. September 25, 20168 yr I was actually impressed with Harlem Shake's chart run, it spent 10 weeks in the top 40 if I remember correctly! That didn't seem like a lot compared to Gangnam Style and Thrift Shop though. I'm glad it was a bigger hit than The Fox anyway.
Only 8 weeks in the top 40, plus a further 2 in the top 75: 3-3-8-9-11-20-29-39-58-73
September 25, 20168 yr Author 35. SHE SAID- Plan B (54,539) #3 No 1 in 6 weeks in 2010 Failing by just 200 copies to hit No 2 this was impressive opening tally Plan B in 2010 though it lagged behind Scouting For Girls by 17k. The promo features Skins actress Kaya Scodelario and This Is England’s Vicky McLure aIzLHliIHO8
September 25, 20168 yr Author 34. JUST BE GOOD TO GREEN- Professor Green Featuring Lily Allen (55,779) #5 http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_opNgGsn1YIY/TETO0BhhK5I/AAAAAAAAU4Y/K4ZFcwKCGcA/s320/Just%20Be%20Good%20To%20Green.jpg No 1 in 6 weeks in 2010 With opening sales far higher than his first (No 3) hit “I Need You Tonight” these sales have only been bettered once by the man himself, naturally on the chart topping “Read All About It”. In this particular week though the entire top 6 were within 25k of each other though it was B.o.B who got the chart topper. 7Kk-dgcTSwY
September 25, 20168 yr Author 33. MISSING YOU- The Saturdays (57,157) #3 No 1 in 6 weeks in 2010 Just under 4k away from the top spot and a midweek chart topper the Saturdays make a second appearance on this list. In the end both Flo Rida (their old enemy) and Eminem/ Rihanna managed to slip past them at the death but on the upside they make this list! raVdkWBWeAY
September 25, 20168 yr I still remember being so relieved that Missing You didn't make #1, what a non-event of a song.
September 25, 20168 yr Author I still remember being so relieved that Missing You didn't make #1, what a non-event of a song. I agree- though the remix (posted) improves it considerably! :D
September 26, 20168 yr I so badly wanted Just Be Good To Green to be #1, and now I see that it could've been on a different week :snif:
September 26, 20168 yr Author 32. IRIS- Goo Goo Dolls (64,992) #3 No 1 in 6 weeks in 2011 Released 3 times in the 90s/00s it peaked at No 50, 26 and 39 respectively, but naturally the X Factor is responsible for the song surging to No 3 in 2011. All eyes were on the battle between Maroon 5 and Sak Noel but this actually came within 11k of upsetting the odds- all thanks to Frankie Cocozza. NdYWuo9OFAw
September 26, 20168 yr Author 31. WHEREVER YOU WILL GO- Charlene Soraia (66,674) #3 No 1 in 6 weeks in 2011 A hit after it was used in a Twinings tea commercial, Soraia’s brief brush with fame came in the form of this cover of the Calling’s 2002 No 3 hit. She was a graduate from the BRIT school attending at the same time as Kate Nash and Adele. olr9vY7FFs0
September 26, 20168 yr Author 30. POISON- Nicole Scherzinger (57,425) #3 No 1 in 7 weeks in 2010 Launched with an X Factor performance (long before she became a judge) this become Scherzinger’s highest placed solo track upon release but it couldn’t compete with the X Factor Finalists who stole the show that week. It’s also a prime slice of RedOne in full effect. Av_WttPAuE4
September 27, 20168 yr Author 29. UNTIL YOU WERE GONE- Chipmunk featuring Esmee Denters (57,536) #3 http://s.mxmcdn.net/images-storage/albums/7/9/9/0/8/5/28580997_350_350.jpg No 1 in 7 weeks in 2010 I didn’t realise just how many “feuds” Chipmunk, or chip as we call him these days, is involved with, namely with Bugzy Malone and Tinie Tempah. Anyway back in the days when he was a popstar he made this with Timberlake’s protégé Esmee Denters. yWyGkLuvWgE
September 27, 20168 yr Author 28. MIAMI2IBIZA- Swedish House Mafia Featuring Tinie Tempah (57,954) #4 http://i65.tinypic.com/2uidxlx.jpg No 1 in 7 weeks in 2010 Such was the great year that Tinie Tempah had had in 2010 that this was to become his lowest charting single from four releases. Not so for SHF who went three places higher than debut hit “One” and actually outsold that track. LCH1AsUydSc

READY FOR YOUR LOVE- Gorgon City Featuring MNEK (71,966) #4 http://images.shazam.com/coverart/t106975724-i797882959_s400.jpg No 1 in 7 weeks in 2014 Starting out in second place (to Will.i.am) this dropped over the course of the week to ultimately enter the charts at No 4 but these are exceptional sales for that position. The following week these sales would have given the track the No 2 slot- the difference a week can make. 8B93tgRxMuE
September 27, 20168 yr Is there anymore Ellie tracks coming up? I would've thought that Your Song would be here :) Edited September 27, 20168 yr by cqmerqn
September 27, 20168 yr i forgot Gorgon City sold that much on week 1!! if only we got deep house hits as big as those now. absolutely love Miami 2 Ibiza too  -x- @cqmerqn Your Song won't appear as it made #2.
September 27, 20168 yr I hope Born This Way is relatively high. I don't really like the song but it should have gone #1
