Do you always have to be so patronising? It's very irritating.

What I meant was (and Matt also agreed) that Simon doesn't really care that much about Little Mix because he had no involvement with them. He's obsessed with One Direction and Fifth Harmony because he put them together. He's never shown much support for LM like he does for 1D and 5H. That was basically the point I was making (without actually making it in my original post).

It's not being patronising, I just didn't really get your point, Little Mix are massive right now and he obviously does care about them because they've always had excellent promo slots, now more than ever. 1D were always bigger of course and 5H needed all the help they could get to be huge, but I don't think you could say he doesn't care about them. It doesn't come across that way to me. I apologise if you thought I was being patronising, I can assure you I wasn't, I just disagree with your point entirely.

I know it's only a 13 second snippet, and you can't judge it too much, but it does sound very generic to me. I have a feeling it won't be as good as 'Black Magic'.

After how successful 'Get Weird' was, did you honestly think they'd give us another 'Salute'? :lol: I can see them doing it at some point again, but they'll want another commercially successful campaign before doing it I reckon. Really cement themselves as an act to be reckoned with. I think 'Salute' might've been TOO early in their career for them, personally. It's still my favourite album by them, but it was quite a huge step from the extremely poppy debut. Even Britney had 'Britney' in between 'Oops!..' and 'In The Zone' which eased her fanbase into the more mature stuff.

I think with his beloved 1D finishing last year and his prized FH finally breaking out, Simon probably was a bit distracted from Little Mix and he probably didn't expect GW to do as well as it did. But did anyone?! (4 massive hits and one of the highest selling albums of the past 2 years). I think he'll have his head in the Little Mix game and on the money this year, I think it'll be very different.

I wonder if that means Radio 1 will playlist on this Friday then? Does their playlist still take effect on Mondays, even though it's presented on a Friday?

Their playlists take affect Friday. It hasn't and won't be added this week but they'll probably be TOTD on Mon and straight to B/A list next week.
