Sales figures for Now 95 was out. :D

Now That's What I Call Music! 95 debuts atop the compilation chart on sales of 222,765 copies. That's the second highest weekly sale of any album thus far in 2016, surpassing the 216,560 copies that immediate predecessor Now! 94 sold on the first of its 13 weeks atop the chart 17 weeks ago, but falling short of the 246,889 copies that Now! 93 sold on the first of its nine weeks at No.1 35 weeks ago. It is 5.30% more than 2015 equivalent Now! 92 sold on debut on the first of its seven weeks at No.1 a year ago next week. Now! 95 sold more than 12 times as many copies as any other compilation last week and more than all of the next 37 best-selling compilations combined.

Will probably buy Now 70's eventually but do agree with a couple of Amazon reviewers that it's not very representative of the decade. There's no glam rock whatsoever! No-one expects Gary Glitter but what about Slade, Mud, Sweet, T.Rex? Thankfully no Bay City Rollers though.Tiny Dancer wasn't even a single in the 70's for Elton, was an album track.

"Everybody's Talkin'" shouldn't be on there because it was released in 1969 which means it's a 60s song

Not sure if anyone who buys the Now compilation in CD actually bothers to read the booklet inserts when they are released, but it seems to me that less and less care and attention is being given to producing a good quality compilation and so little is written up on each track it makes looking into the booklet rather pointless. In fact so many mistakes are made too where it has been so rushed.

It was much better in the 90's/early 00's as more attention to detail was given and that made it a much more enjoyable read.

Not anymore though.

NOW 95's sales have dropped to 159,404. I was expecting the sales to increase or decrease slightly, not decrease drastically with it nearing Christmas

Edited by Hadji

It always falls slightly the second week and recovers on Xmas week and the week beforehand!

The inclusion of Everybody's Talkin in the Now 70's doesn't make sense at all despite Everybody's Talkin was one of his signature hits. They should include "Without You" instead (Another Nilsson signature hits released in late 1971 and Mariah Carey eventually cover the song) if they really want to featured Harry Nilsson.

Maybe they wanted to use a song of his which they haven't used yet as "Without You" appeared on NOW Love back in 1994

They didn't use Bohemian Rhapsody either. They could have include a different Abba track to Dancing Queen too, come to think of it.

With ABBA, they could've used "Fernando", "Waterloo", "Mamma Mia", "Knowing Me, Knowing You", "Take A Chance On Me", "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", "Chiquitita" or "What's The Name Of The Game"

They should do a spin-off called NOW Movies 2017 and include songs like these and not to reuse songs from the last NOW Movies

As David Bowie was added to NOW 93 as a tribute, I hope they do the same thing with George Michael for NOW 96 and use a song of his which they ain't used yet i.e. "Careless Whisper", "Faith", "As" or "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)"

David Bowie was added because of managing to get a #12 hit with Heroes.

If George Michael can get a similarly high charting posthumous hit then he may be considered.

If they do include him, it will most likely be "Careless Whisper" as that one looks set to chart the highest. The way it's climbing on iTunes and Spotify, it could even go top 10

Why not do a Now...Gone To Heaven with all deceased artists right from the 50's to now. I'm not joking or being disrespectful here as there's actually an online radio station called Radio Dead which plays nothing but dead singers and groups. I'd buy that and I bet many others would.

It's true, most of the greatest song writers of all time are no longer with us now. :(
