Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is loads of fun, I haven't seen it in absolutely ages but it was always one of my favourites when I was a bit younger. Such a bonkers concept :lol: I don't think I ever even saw the sequel though, was a bit more grown up by then.

Two utterly fabulous films! :wub: Happy Feet is one of my favourite films of all time & brings me a massive smile everytime I watch it! <3 The characters and the songs are incredible :wub: It was my favourite film when I was younger and I have so many Happy Feet related toys still!!

 

Cloudy is also SO much FUN *.* The idea is great and is fabulously executed and it is another enjoyable animated flick with a heart <3

50. Monsters Vs Aliens

This film tells the story of a woman who is turned into a giant and then joins a team of monsters that unite to fight an alien attempting to take over the world.

 

It features a famous voice cast including Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd and Hugh Laurie. It also made $380 million at the worldwide box office.

 

Personally, I can't say I've seen the film but I did actually go to the cinema to see it :lol: It was when I was on holiday in Sydney and my Aunt had treated us to see this in a lovely cinema with reclining chairs where they serve you food/drinks in the cinema. So I drank my milkshake, put my feet up and fell asleep in the trailers and didn't wake up until the film was over :heehee:

Love Monsters vs Aliens and I'm really glad it made the top 50! Saw it so many times when I was younger!

49. Madagacar 3: Europe's Most Wanted

This is the one where they join a circus and their journey takes them all the way from New York to Europe!

 

The main cast including Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Schwimmer, Chris Rock & Sacha Baron Cohen all returned as well as new additions to the cast including Frances McDormand, Bryan Cranston & Jessica Chastain! It actually made almost $750 million at the worldwide box office (the most of the franchise!!) but has yet to get a proper sequel.

 

I have definitely seen this because I remember the Afro Circus thing and I love the four main characters so I probably enjoyed it but they did all start to blend into one at this point tbh :heehee:

48. A Bug's Life

This seems like a bit of a forgotten classic nowadays as it has largely been overshadowed by future Pixar films. It remains one of their least financially successful films and is seldom brought up in conversations about their best films.

 

It's a really cute film though in my opinion and I think I would rank it pretty highly in comparison to other Pixar films although I do admit to not revisiting it so often.

 

It also features the familiar voices of Hayden Panettiere, Kevin Spacey and Julia Louis-Dreyfus and was an Oscar nominee in the Best Music, Original Musical or Comedy Score category! (It came out a couple years before the Animated Feature category was created).

Loooove 'A Bug's Life'! I rewatched it the other week and it's still really under rated/forgotten about, which is a shame </3

47. Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit

This movie tells of the story of Wallace and Gromit who work together to discover the mystery behind a rabbit destroying crops.

 

It actually won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature for 2005 and made $192 million at the worldwide box office.

 

Personally, I wasn't that keen on this film because I don't really like the character of Wallace and find him kind of annoying plus I find the animation style a bit grating. Yay for Helena Bonham Carter & Ralph Fiennes tho!!

I think I remember seeing Were-Rabbit in the cinema but I don't remember a lot of the film.

I do remember seeing the three short Wallace And Gromit films on DVD though, as well as Wrong Trousers on VHS. They were a lot of fun.

46. The Fox and the Hound

A Disney classic but one that is rarely brought up in conversation about their VERY best films, The Fox and the Hound tells the story of two puppy friends who grow up and are forced fo be enemies.

 

I didn't realise until now but it actually features Mickey Rooney and Kurt Russell as the voices of the two main characters :o

 

For me, this is massively under-rated and one of the Disney films that still gets me so emotional when I see it! The scene where Copper saves Tod from being shot gets me EVERY time :'(

45. Monsters University

The long-awaited follow-up to Monsters, Inc (2001) arrived in the form of a prequel set in Monsters University where Sully and Mike first meet.

 

It was a massive financial success earning over $740 million worldwide but not as well reviewed as the first film. The film saw the return of cast members John Goodman and Billy Crystal as well as the addition of Helen Mirren who voiced the amazing bitch, Dean Hardscrabble.

 

It wasn't nominated for any Oscars but was nominated at the BAFTAs for Best Animated film where it lost to Frozen.

 

I don't really get the distaste towards this film, I think it's just as charming as the first film and they make a great back-to-back watch. I'd love a third film still and I'm glad we finally did get a sequel even if we had to wait over a decade!

44. Brave

Brave is the story of a young Scottish princess who has ro balance fitting in with her regal surroundings with the fact that her mother has turned into a bear!

 

It made $540 million worldwide at the box office and Merida herself has been added to the Disney Princess line-up making her the only Pixar character so far to appear there. It also WON the Oscar for Best Animated Film beating out the likes of Wreck-It Ralph, ParaNorman & Frankenweenie.

 

From my point of view, the film has a fun a little story and some enjoyable jokes and characters too but certainly lacks the emotional weight that the majority of Pixar films have.

43. The Jungle Book

One of Disney's most famous classics drop out at #43. The Jungle Book tells the story of Mowgli, a young boy raised by wolves in the jungle, on the run from a terrifying villain, Shere Khan, with help from his bear and panther friends & mentors, Baloo & Bagheera, along the way.

 

It also features some of Disney's most famous songs including The Bare Necessities (which was nominated at the Oscars for Best Original Song!) and I Wanna Be Like You.

 

If I'm being completely honest, the 2016 remake of the film was much better imo. This has never been one of my absolute faves from Disney and phenomenal special effects in the live-action version really help to elevate the movie to a whole new level.

42. Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs

And the next film to drop out comes in the form of the first EVER animated Disney classic, Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs. It's really crazy to think that this film is now 80 years old x_x

 

It was a massive box office success at the time too and is actually in the top 10 highest grossing movies list in the USA when adjusted for inflation (the only animated film to make the list! with 101 Dalmations at #12 & The Lion King at #19).

 

Despite not being one of my favourite Disney movies, I really do appreciate it for how much of a classic it is. The Mirror on the wall is, of course, now iconic and I adore the characters of the dwarfs too.

41. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Dropping out just short of the Top 40 is an animated classic produced by non other than Tim Burton.

 

Jack Skellington has become one of the most instantly recognisable movie characters from an animated film and it remains an annual Halloween/Christmas staple more than 20 years later for many households.

 

It's not a film that I've actually seen but it's definitely on my watch list, everyone must love it for a reason!

Monsters Uni and Jungle Book (thumbs up to both)

Snow White :wub: In my top 3 "Disney princess" movies. The other 2 are 'Alice In Wonderland' and now 'Moana'.

 

I, however, don't get or understand why 'Nightmare Before Christmas' is so well liked?!

40. Spirited Away

Known as one of Hayao Miyazaki & Studio Ghibli's finest films, Spirited Away has one many accolades and is often listed amongst the greatest animated films of all-time.

 

It tells the story of a young girl who moves to a new town where she ends up entering the spirit world. Her parents are turned into pigs by an evil witch and she has to find a way to free herself and her parents.

 

I imagine the reason it is a bit lower here is that less people on Buzzjack will have not seen the film (including me) compared to the likes of Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks films. I really must get around to changing that though as I know it is is supposed to be fantastic.

The one Studio Ghibli I really wanna see that I haven't got around to watching yet. I've not seen a couple of others either, but this is at the top of my list, with 'My Neighbour Totoro'!
