Hopefully Rockabye keeps falling till Touch gets ahead of it tomorrow. But then probably The Chainsmoker new single will overtake them kiii at least they won't fall to #6

It's... odd. I think it's safe to say there's been issues getting it out. Be it legal or someone on the team not being happy with the product. They filmed the video 3 months ago so it would probably have been so they could strike as soon as the iron was hot. But they've literally watched it slowly fall over the past 3 weeks without releasing the video would give it a big boost. While the video will probably gain them a place or two in the chart if released now it won't be anywhere near the sales peak if they released it 3 weeks ago.

Davidson makes an excellent point. They released the SOTME video the day the song charted so the buzz was still massive after the X Factor performance, so maximum impact there. I remember when Glory Days first came out Lewis Corner of Digital Spy described Touch as 'a hit single waiting to happen' and it was a firm favourite on album release. Surely with there being so little movement in the chart at this time of year releasing the MV within a week or two of the X Factor performance would've got it at least Top 3.

 

For me the most surprising thing is that there hasn't been a single tweet from HQ about it. When the SLS video was delayed it was at least acknowledged but I haven't been aware of a single tweet from HQ giving any indication of when, or even if, it's coming

I wouldn't say it felt like a 'smash hit', at least for the moment. Even Hair felt like a bigger hit at this point. Still a decent sized hit though.

Heart have started playing this a fair bit, which is surprising, because they don't usually play this dance-pop genre. But it's good news because it might break the fall if Radio 1 take it off the playlist on Friday.

Finally overtook Clean Bandit on Spotify, though Chainsmokers overtook so they remain at #5
