Oh wow. I wasn't even convinced they'd get a slot on the final given that they'd already performed, never mid two -- incredible news. I hope 'Oops' doesn't overshadow 'Touch' though, I'd prefer that they performed it second. I'm also a bit concerned that with two songs, people will opt to buy the album instead, so 'Touch' might not make that big a splash on iTunes.

 

Edit: Never mind, I'd forgotten that 1D had the exact same set-up last year, and didn't exactly hamper History's chart performance. Bring on Sunday!

Actually Infinity was the single, but History outperformed it so they changed it. I'm not worried though. I think people enjoying Oops will buy the album and people enjoying Touch will go for the single, Touch will of course have a much bigger and captivating performance and is a much more instant song than Oops. Opps will of course be single 3 though, I can see them both going top 10 after the performance.

So it was! Ha, I can envision the meltdowns if a similar situation happens with 'Touch'/'Oops'. Surely it won't? Given that the video's already been shot.

Two performances on X-Factor - that's insane! What are XF ratings like these days, I know it being the final will likely pull in more. Hopefully both songs shoot up the chart, I'm really excited to see how the album sells too.

 

I hope they back the performance up with some other perfomances throughout the week, the acoustic version on some of the morning shows would be a nice touch.

Ratings these days are not great, it regularly gets savaged in the ratings by Strictly Come Dancing. However, there was a big spike in the ratings when the girls performed SOTME

Also, the final typically draws in a much bigger audience in general than the rest of the series. REALLY excited to see the performance of this. Hopefully the choreo is KILLER.

I've been replaying it a lot today trying to get used to it and I agree, it's just extremely weak and one of their worst tracks to date. :cry:

I like oops - it's chilled

I was the #1 Oops hater but it did grow on me a lot. It's a bit frustrating for us stans because there are better tracks on Glory Days (but Oops will probably be an excellent single) and because I can't think of any great performances coming from it since it has no big vocal moment, but I guess that's ok for one single in the campaign.

Oops will be a good "while we're away touring in the US" single, for it'll probably need no promo.
