Ugh I hope Metallica can take it, always a sad day to see manufactured groups topping the album charts (the single charts died a long time ago though so they're a lost cause).

I guess the one ray of sunshine is that in thirty years time Little Mix won't be together and will be a historical footnote, rather than still selling out stadiums and pushing for No. 1 albums - with none of the promotion that their rivals get ;)

Metallica 10k behind

Yesterday they were. More behind today.

They won't. Also,

You seem pressed. LM are showing longevity, their 4th era is their biggest one. That's quite rare with groups in the UK, they are doing amazing.

Besides, Metallica's album isn't good...at all.

Love those fans that think the only music good is the one they're listening to.

Not forgetting Metallica are on the Radio 1 Rock Show tonight, I think both acts could do over 100k, so I wouldn't rule out Metallica just yet :P it could be real close in the end.

I really don't think Metallica have a chance. Little Mix extended their lead today.

whilst that is good exposure, I can't see it being a tipping point when Little Mix are already way ahead of them. Plus I imagine LM have many promo slots throughout the week.

on another note, I told my brother who's a Metallica fan that they would be beaten to #1 by Little Mix, and he couldn't care less

Snobbery at its finest. Yay.

Those sales for Little Mix are impressive, they really could manage 100k at this rate, fingers crossed. Metallica also selling in very respectable numbers.

Really hope Olly Murs Grow can climb into the top 20 this week, its really really growing on me and so much better than you dont know love.

Carpool Karaoke coming this week for Bruno Mars, the recent run of these seems to be Artists underperforming with their Sales (ie Britney, Gaga, Bruno), Madonna apparently lined-up for one soon...

Good sales for both the top 2 - Metallica doing really well considering they are more of a niche kind of sound and LM with their biggest first week sales set to be broken - I expect them to sell well right through until after the Brits!

Hope they break 100k!

Some rounded album sales;

Little Mix - 64k

Metallica - 44k

Bruno Mars - 34k

That's the #1 album sorted then! Little Mix surely on track for the second highest weekly sale of the year too.

Even Bruno's sales aren't that bad - he's just ~2k below what Olly Murs had sold this time last week.

#1 album looks a dead cert now, love to know how many radio 1 listeners listened to Metallica last night though, they might have increased in sales but not by that much.
