Not just NOWs. You are forgetting that the soundtrack for South Pacific spent 70 consecutive weeks at #1 on the album chart between November 1958 and March 1960. It spent 115 non-consecutive weeks at #1 between November 1958 and September 1961 and OCC didn't think to create a compilation chart then

What you're missing here is that albums were barely even a thing in 1958. Look at the album chart from around that time and earlier and you'll see the top 10 (or top 5 as it was at one point) was mostly made up of soundtrack albums, with the odd addition of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. It spent so long at the top of the chart because there was literally no competition, was probably only selling a few hundred copies a week (although of course we'll never know exactly), so there would have been no point in creating a compilation chart to leave the official album chart pretty much empty.

Regarding Little Mix, I think their new sound is quite a bit aimed to UK market as they really underperfomed in the US, #25 compared to two top ten's and #13 they have previously achieved

This was the first album they did not promote over there.

Not sure whether it has been mentioned yet but looks like Robbie will get a big boost next week after the BRITs ICON Special on ITV on Monday (it's an hour and a half Special).

I do think the Album has plenty of potential to get back to Top 5 for the lead-up to Xmas.

Any chance it will stay in the Top 10 this week?

I think the album will be on #11 this week but since next week it will be in Top-5 during the month.

That's too cool promo for that:

Dec.5 - Brits Icon Concert on ITV1 (1:45)

Dec.6 - Royal Variety Performance BBC1

Dec.8 - BBC Radio 2: Concert + interviews + live performance

Dec.9 - Key 103 Christmas Live

Dec.12 - BBC Music Awards - Dec.12

Dec.19 - Heart Concert

Dec.31 - New Year's Eve Concert (strong rumor)

Kate Moss is going to release a video to promote Elvis' 'The Wonder Of You' on December 16th in a bid to get it No.1 for Christmas. Not sure whether it is the album or the single from it she is promoting.

Where's Louisa and Ellie? Thanks

Louisa #17, Ellie's up a bit from last week but still not that close to the top 40

Have Little Mix extended their lead again by a few hundred? Think was a 3,200 lead yesterday (over ball and boe) wasn't it looks like 3,600 today.

Correct! :D

Yeah, they were the highest sellers by around 450 copies.

Lovely to see that Starboy has climbed back into the top five, but positions 5-7 in the albums are very close and it might easily end up falling out again.

Glad that Little Mix have continued to extend their lead; I recognised that the Black Friday sale on Amazon had ended and their stability on there had started to decrease because of it. I was worried that Michael Ball & Alfie Boe might have started to sell more because of that, but so far so good.

There's so many christmas gift bundles with the album on their official website, I imagine loads of people are going there to buy the album rather than Amazon.

Thank you for confirming guys, Should stay #1 for the second week then really wanted that for them with it being 15 years since a girlband did it.

They aren't doing too bad on amazon, Deluxe is still #5 and the standard is around #12 or #13 I think.

Starboy could end up selling more than what BBTM did in its first week

Based on their previous album Get Weird, Little Mix always appear to sell better towards the end of the week as Get Weird in general ended up with a higher position on Friday than it was in the midweek chart information through the week. Based on that i hope they can fend off Ball and Boe to hold the number 1 but the battle is close.

Robbie Williams has some serious promotion lined up, while i dont like any of the material from the album that i have heard and wont be buying the album myself its worth mentioning that he knows how to market and promote an album and many other could and should take a leaf out of his book.

Busted should cling onto the number 10 position by the skin of their teeth, unfortunately the same cant be said for Susan Boyle and Kylie who will most likely fall for the remainder of the week.
